Added it in, thanks a lot.

ARK: Survival Evolved, A Beautiful Unreal Engine Survival Game Is Heading Our Way

Quoting: stssThis game looks so much fun!

Does anyone know what their business model is exactly? Please tell me they aren't going to sell in-game items. I'm really getting sick of every multiplayer game doing that, and I kind of miss the days when 100% of in-game content being available to all players online was the standard.
No, it will be like Rust, pay once.

Two Worlds II Action RPG Will Apparently Still Be Ported To Linux

Quoting: EikeThis is probably way too late to make any money, ain't it?
I've got a bit of fear that such late ports will hurt Linux sale reputation...
It would only hurt our "reputation" if they:
1) Thought it was going to make them rich
and
2) Told everyone it wasn't worth it

We all know Linux ports of old games isn't going to make a lot of money.

GOL Survey Results: April

Quoting: crabelIt's unlikely that the increase in respondends has affected the Steam Machine ratio, since all other questions show the same picture as before.

Speaks well for data quality. :-)
(Internet surveys are often problematic because they are easily gamed. Almost useless on controversial topics)

That said:
It was always "No" for me regarding SteamMachines, so my opinion might not be too useful. In the beginning, I thought SteamMachines were more like XBone or PS 4. A cute box. Now, there are lots of them, all looking different.

Maybe some people have realized: That's just a PC with SteamOS (and thats essentially Linux + Steam).
Also, what about "Steam Link". Maybe some people also plan to use that box instead of a SteamMachine?

Maybe ask:
Do you play in your living room? Do you plan to?
Steam Link (Yes, No, Maybe)
I would also like to see Steam Link added, as that's something that I've been tempted to get.

Quoting: liamdaweTraffic wise: People posted it to reddit, so lots of people came in, more than usual.

Steam Machines: Stats are very different due to how many more people we have doing the survey.

As for the GDC question, I never actually saw TW3 be officially confirmed anywhere. As far as I know it still hasn't been confirmed by any of the developers.
I took the games list from here https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/lots-of-big-games-confirmed-for-steamos-torchlight-ii-now-out-payday-2-mordor-and-more-coming-too.5047 - which was taken from that SteamOS sale. I guess I should have clarified that the list came from Valve and not the developers themselves.

The variations caused by number of respondents is certainly true, it may very well be the case. I just didn't really consider it too much this time because none of the other results really fluctuated by anywhere near that much. But yes, probably best to take it with a grain of salt.
Man, totally forgot Valve claimed TW3 is coming, so good shout.

Star Trek Comes To Linux, Star Trek 25th Anniversary & Star Trek Judgement Rites On GOG

Quoting: BumadarLiam, I never used a .deb based OS.

Under openSUSE /opt is a root partition which normaly is not that huge if you stick with the default install (2gb /swap, 20gb / and rest /home) so I would not want my games on that, is this different under ubuntu ?

Secondly installing an RPM requires su rights, maybe I am to untrustworthy but I avoid using that for anything that is not from the signed repositories ?
I don't really know much about the filesystem stuff on Linux sorry. This quote comes to mind from Aliens "Don't ask me man I only work here".

Just download the .tar file.

Prison Architect Release Alpha 32, Will Fully Launch Later This Year
7 May 2015 at 5:20 pm UTC

Quoting: Segata SanshiroI put off playing this because the tutorial was really terrible last time I checked. My brother got really addicted to it when it was in very early alpha though, so I know it's a good game, but yeah I'll wait for the tutorial (get frustrated easily).
What was wrong with the tutorial? It was buggy maybe 20 alphas ago, but it all seems pretty solid now.

Quoting: liamdaweYou're saying I don't care, when I obviously do, or I wouldn't be here. <...>

Again, if someone doesn't support Kickstarter, it doesn't mean they don't care. It means they don't pay out money on nothing but promises.
It means they simply don't care enough or think that prospects of success are so low, there is no point to bother. Others care enough and expect a successful outcome. It's not silly, that's just how it is.
I said I wouldn't participate again, but this really will be my last on it, because this is going too far now. To be frank I think your point of view is extremely unreasonable.

Now you've changed from they "don't care", to they "don't care enough"...*sigh*

There's a big difference between saying someone doesn't care to just having varying levels of interest. I care about all Linux games, but Divinity is not a Linux game right now. A year after the Windows release, and it's still just words. I am interested in it, and may even buy it when they eventually release it.

Does that mean I don't care because I didn't back their and others Kickstarters? Hell no it doesn't. It means I spend my money on games that already exist for Linux. I like to play games, not play waiting games.

Quoting: liamdaweNo, that doesn't sound better. You're trying really hard to make me sound bad here.
Why bad? It's not like anyone is required to participate in those projects. But those who want to see them made - do (since that very participation enables them).
You're saying I don't care, when I obviously do, or I wouldn't be here.

Quoting: Shmerl
Quoting: liamdaweOr maybe I don't feel like "investing" in risky projects that often have problems like this is a good idea?
That's exactly what I'm saying. Those who care enough about those projects are willing to risk their investment, since they know that otherwise those projects won't be made at all.

And I'm not sure there is any indication that such problems occur often. There are a lot of successful crowdfunded releases with Linux versions.
Again, if someone doesn't support Kickstarter, it doesn't mean they don't care. It means they don't pay out money on nothing but promises.

This argument is getting silly now, so I shall not participate in it with you further, I've made my point several times.
