Okay, more investigating, motion blur does turn off, but it always blurs a bit when you run no matter what settings.

Quoting: n30p1r4t3This game honestly ran fine for me. Was it perfect? No. But it was defiantly playable. In fact, I beat the story with some 25ish hours of gameplay on record. Still one of the best games on Linux right now. What FPS are you getting when in the city with zombies around? Turn on an FPS counter and let us know.
My Settings:
Everything On Max except view distance.
Specs:
i5 4690K @ 4.0Ghz
16GB 1866Mhz Ram
GTX 980 (Latest Drivers)

Quoting: oldrocker99I tried all the remaining codes, and none of them were valid :'( . Oh, well. I'm certainly interested in the game, and, although my disposable income is pretty much depleted, I will buy it. Eventually.Right now three of them are valid, but I don't know exactly which ones.

Also, switch on Steam's FPS counter and let me know what you get, interested to see!
If possible, try recording it using something like SimpleScreenRecorder :) for us to see the choppyness.

Quoting: SkarjakI always upgrade to the latest drivers. Still choppy. Still not choppy on Windows with super old drivers I haven't bothered to upgrade in ages. What exact card and driver version are you on? It will tell you in the nvidia control panel.
Also, switch on Steam's FPS counter and let me know what you get, interested to see!

With that in mind I find pretty much any higher end game on Linux acts this way, so it's not to do with this port. Dota2 does it, interstellar marines does it, and many more.

Quoting: GuestOne thing to note, and while this game's performance looks great on my system (25 hours of playtime logged), I keep tabs on my various system temp settings and with XCOM: Enemy Unknown running, my CPU quickly cooks up to 65-70°C as all 4 cores max out even though I have CPU-Ondemand (core-throttling) enabled on my system.I have comparable specs to you, slightly lower CPU (Intel i5-4670) and higher graphics (Nvidia 970). Same distribution too.
I don't have a low-end system, mind you. It's pretty reasonable as a gaming rig:
Linux Mint 17.1 "Rebecca" LTS 64bit MATE w/ 3.13.0-37 Kernel
Intel Core i5-4690 Haswell Quad-Core 3.5Ghz
16GB DDR3 1600 RAM
GeForce 760 GTX 4GB w/ Proprietary Nvidia 346.35 drivers
Great game, just not totally optimized as a Linux-native client.
With that in mind I find pretty much any higher end game on Linux acts this way, so it's not to do with this port. Dota2 does it, interstellar marines does it, and many more.

Quoting: BeamboomOther articles yes, other Dying Light patch articles, no.Quoting: liamdaweThis is the latest patch and the latest article, so I don't get the confusion? This article is published 3 February 2015. There's been plenty articles after that?
When I see this article on top of the front page, over newer ones, my first thought is always, "yay a new patch again!".
