I am sorry to inform you that the term "protect the children" is actually used everywhere where a law would otherwise be hard to enact. All these laws popping up everywhere recently are not about children, never were and nowhere will be.

I already thought about replacing my aging but still rocking Ryzen 9, but Ram prices are striking hard. Still, the idea is in my head, that almost certainly means throwing money out, soon.

At least, the trilogy is linked. Installation of the GOG version is somewhat cumbersome, and also the Steam version borked out with my AppImage on Linux.

@Corben: This is amazing! I struggeled a bit with envision / monado, but getting it to work really is worth it! Performance gain is outstanding - from mere diashow to fluid running!

Monado seems to be quite picky right now - feels like SteamVR a year ago.

Just found out that envision / monado needs to be started before steam, or it will hang with "Starting...." - is this a solvable problem with my setup?

Great news! And yes, at home I am using Debian for the server that "just needs to run" and that is exposed to the net. On other servers and clients I am mostly on Arch. At work I use Debian on the raspis (many of them) mostly as Raspbian OS. I just love their stability and usability.
