Quoting: badberVery good news, I just hope the early access version I tried isn't indicative of the system requirements for the final version because that one probably wouldn't run on an Intel integrated GPU which I may be interested in playing this with.

In any case, I anticipate playing this right away. I was very convinced by the writing in the EA version.
Yeah I hope that they dont do a pillars of eternity and put in useless 3D models staggering my computer + endless loading screens between every transition, because that just ruins the game. I LOVE Planescape: Torment and I want this very much, IF it is playable.
Well, I believe it does have 3D models for characters and it does also include loading screens between areas. That said, I read a comment from someone who did say there have been performance improvements in the latest beta build so possibly it'll run better.

Seems like it might be a real tool for learning which makes me interested. If you want to call it nerdy for someone to be deeply interested in a specific area then I guess sure, it's for the nerdy. People do also talk about physics and maths nerds these days after all...

Why exactly? CPUs have had microcode basically forever and you've been able to upload new revisions for a long, long time.
Sorry, I meant until they remove their non-free microcode.
What CPUs with free microcode are you using then?
for my free system I have an older AMD CPU from 2008 and I have a NanoPi M1 too.
Both of those processors probably have microcode. Also, seems to me like AMD has supported updating the microcode at least from 1999: https://www.dcddcc.com/docs/2014_paper_microcode.pdf [External Link]
As a sidenote, wasn't the floating-point calculation problem that Pentiums had (y'know, those 90's-era CPUs) caused, and fixed, by microcode?
Seems like the FDIV bug wouldn't have been fixable with just updateable microcode according to this: https://www.ele.uva.es/~jesman/BigSeti/ftp/Cajon_Desastre/MPR/111204.pdf [External Link]

What game are you truly thankful to have on Linux & SteamOS?

Euro Truck Simulator 2. Only got into it a few weeks ago and I anticipate playing that one a lot every time I need to do some thinking & relaxing.

I'll definitely look at what's there and I might pick up some ETS2 DLC as well as some wishlist items but I haven't really purchased much ever since I noticed that everything I get almost invariably just stays in my collection of Steam games that is 99% completely unplayed.

Quoting: Vuko2000I'm psyched about this game. I backed this on Kickstarter and all indications that coming another great game on GOG with support for linux cant wheit... I have all games from Obsidian to bad that there is no Armored Warfare on Linux this studio is bloody Awesome. Also i hoppe so that they finaly relase Planescape: Torment HD Remastered.
This isn't Obsidian though, it's inXile. I know Fargo's involved but is there some other connection between them and Obsidian? I'm really becoming a fan of Colin McComb with this title, the writing seems to be spot on. Of course there are many other people besides him to thank for that but he seems to have a great vision for the title.

The story for this is amazing from what I've seen of the prerelease. Some gameplay elements weren't as good so I hope they will be better for the final product. Still, even with just an unbuggy version of the beta gameplay and full story I'd consider this a must buy.
