Quoting: Whitewolfe80Really because i found them boring as fuck on my own, its just a sub par shooter with loot boxes (free and paid loot boxes) what it does have is humour in the case of BL2 the weird aussie humour in the pre sequel is perhaps the one to give a miss.
Tmho, Borderlands 2(/presequel) is probably the best FPS game on Linux : open world FPS with cool graphics, a great and crazy story with strong characters. The games are really varied : a tons of weapons, options, landscapes (ice, desert, space...), cars, weak gravity (pre sequel), great DLC, coop. Hundreds of hours of gameplay for...less than 10€!

F1 2017 system requirements for the Linux port have been revealed, NVIDIA & AMD supported

Quoting: scaineYou've got to be joking, right? Installing drivers... from a website? Not having to deal with that, ever, is one of Linux's greatest joys.

More seriously, the last time I tried to install Nvidia's driver from their website, I gave up. It's a weird process involving downloading a tarball, extracting, setting executable, running, specifying a bunch of parameters, and the end result is... a DEB file!
You can try smxi [External Link]. This script will download the driver, install it and deal with the parameters. It is really robust.

Here’s a look at some good FPS games available on Linux & SteamOS

Maybe you could add Painkiller Hell & Damnation

Quoting: Guestnoone can say we don't have alot of shooters, thats quite alot from 3 or 4 years ago where we had hardly anything at all
We have a lot of multiplayer and rogue-like/lite FPS, but if you like story driven single player FPS, your choice is very limited though...I really enjoyed Borderlands2 some years ago, but nothing really interesting since then.

Ryan "Icculus" Gordon is looking for new games to port to Linux, pay not required

I think that AAA games may be difficult to port for one man (A Borderland 1 port would be so cool). I have to finish a lot of games, but i would like to see :

-Shadow Warrior 2 (Road Hog Engine)
-Legend of Grimrock 2
-Killing floor 2 (Unreal engine)

I believe Linux ports were promised for these 3 games, but never released.

Quoting: ZeloxNo man sky would be cool aswell.
Maybe you could have a look at Planet Nomads. (HB store [External Link])

ARK: Survival Evolved updated with the latest 'Unreal Rendering code', still terrible on Linux

Quoting: liamdaweI have a feeling it's a driver fix, not a game fix.
Very likely, i've just installed the latest nvidia driver (according to smxi, 384.59).

At last, the cave glitches have been fixed (hurrah!), but the water textures are now missing (i guess that the total number of bugs must be constant :)).

The loading times have also been improved and are now reasonnably fast on my set-up (i5+SSD) : around 30s to play, the first time you launch the game (and only a few seconds the second time).

Dungeon Kingdom: Sign of the Moon, a real-time dungeon crawling RPG has a Linux version

Well it's not new (i backed it on indiegogo in 2014) but the first versions were really buggy on Linux (and almost unplayable). They only fixed the most annoying bugs 6 month ago.

The game is beautiful and well designed, but needs more contents.

ARK: Survival Evolved has just had a price increase, it has more than doubled

Quoting: GuestWe all know I love this game. I have also defended it at times too, I can see past most of the annoying bugs. But the fact there is only a month until they release the game that I have no faith they will ever fix the caves.

And then to slap this price tag on it. I mean to spend £55 to get half a game... IS A JOKE. And even I wouldn't recommend Linux users buying it now.
That's the point. Ark is one of my favourite game on Linux. I can live with the "bad" performances on my GTX 970 : frankly, it's really playable and smooth (not on par with the window version, though). But the caves glitches prove that the developpers really don't care, that makes the new price ridiculous for linux users...

The Witcher 3 didn't come to Linux likely as a result of the user-backlash from The Witcher 2

Quoting: KimmoKMthe backlash at the time was 100% justified.
No, insulting people is never a good answer.
Maybe VP should have handled the release differently (early access, beta..) but remember that it was their first Linux port. Some Linux users are just spoiled brats.

ARK: Survival Evolved release date revealed, plus new free map

Quoting: KetilIf I turn down some graphics stuff, then a 3GB 1060 GTX has acceptable performance. Still some graphical glitches though.
Same here. I can live with the actual performances (gtx 970), but the graphical glitches are really annoying : it's almost impossible to explore the caves right now because of the "rainbow glitch" and the black textures...

It's a shame because this game is really great, without any doubt the best survival game on Linux...
