Quoting: edoIts a shame than gaming in Linux still sucks. The r600 driver is still not good enough. Luckily I have windows too.
R600 is far more mature than RadeonSI and yet you have problems? Are you on the latest version of Linux, Mesa, and LLVM?

Quoting: JoeI'd recommend getting it on sale during the Steam summer sale that is supposed to start today. Good timing :)
Since we are Linux users, I suggest that we don't cheap out, especially for high profile games such as this. Developers and publishers should know that their efforts will be rewarded.

  • Playdead is much smaller than CD Projekt RED

  • Playdead has a lot less cash than CD Projekt RED

  • Limbo is much older than The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

  • Limbo already exists on Linux via a wrapjob

And yet here we have Limbo for Linux. Natively. Thank you, Playdead and icculus. That is how you build good will. I can tell which game I'll buy and gift and which one I won't.
Limbo code base is much smaller than Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
Limbo is much more easer to test.

I think it is very hard to compare these two games.

Civilization 5 and Witcher 2 in other hand...
My first two bullet points tackle that rather nicely. Civilization 5 is another example, though, as is Trine. CD Projekt RED, being all about good will, certainly screwed up here compared to other developer studios.

It Seems AMD May Still Bring The Mantle Graphics API To Linux

Just stick with OpenGL and focus all your efforts on the open source driver, AMD. Stop wasting time, your customers have waited long enough. Sounds like tomfoolery to improve the open source driver and then switch APIs.

A Bad AMD Catalyst Driver Is Bad For Everyone

Bad for everyone? Hardly. If AMD's proprietary driver is so poor that it forces people to use AMD's increasingly better open source driver, that's good for everyone. AMD is likely to throw even more developers at its open source driver as well then.

Aspyr Media Comments On Linux, More AAA Games In Future

It would be amazing if Linux not only received the same games that Mac OS receives from now on, but all past games as well. I would certainly buy them. People may argue that it hasn't helped Mac OS attain more market share, but that is really because of the financial barrier and the hardware barrier that Apple imposes, aspects that Linux fortunately does not suffer from.
