SteamBoy Aims To Be A Handheld Steam Machine

This is mighty interesting. A SteamBoy has been announced as a handheld Steam Machine and it looks pretty good, but will it run SteamOS? Considering that it has the same touch pads as the Steam Controller and a Steam logo on the back it does look hopeful!

What do you think to it? It is certainly interesting and hell I would probably buy one if it is SteamOS as who wouldn't like to take some of their Steam games with them on the go?!

More details:
QuoteWhile the exact hardware itself is still under wraps, the SteamBoy design should feature a Quad-Core CPU, 4GB RAM, a 32GB built-in memory card, and a 5" 16:9 touchscreen.

It could easily be fake though, as it's all well and good having a fancy trailer and some pictures, but we need more MOOORE! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

If this lives up to my expectations, it will be the best portable console ever (in my opinion). I mean, it would actually play real PC games, sure it will be weak, but with lower resolution you can probably run some good classics. Left 4 Dead 2 will probably run without a problem.
The mobile games might even look better than what this would be capable of, however the only decent mobile games are ports from older consoles, rest seems to be generic stuff, mostly pay 2 win.

QuoteSteamboy Project has not any connection to Valve or Steam, except it will offer SteamOS games.

Please can someone get me a towel? I can't seem to stop drooling.

I can't imagine that it'd be any good for online games (TF2/L4D/DOTA/etc), but offline games? Yes, please!

I'm not sure games made for 20" monitors will be playable on 5" screens. I don't see much dev concern about resolution and text font adaptations even for "couch steamers", let alone for a 3rd-party portable Steam machine.

Come on, this is completely bogus, don't jump at it like this. It's nonsense.

Quoting: TealCome on, this is completely bogus, don't jump at it like this. It's nonsense.

And do you have proof that it's fake? Them not being affiliated with Valve doesn't prove anything since SteamOS is open source.
