How many of you actually contacted Gearbox in some manner to let the folks there know you're interested instead of just commenting here? If you haven't contacted Gearbox yet, then do so!

Balrum Open World Fantasy RPG With Building Beta Launched, Works On Linux

Quoting: SirKnightThis e been looks very good! I have been looking for a game like fallout/avernum that runs nativly on linux for years! (oh btw FutureSuture great picture, the os i use).
Thank you very much! I deem it the best distro to use for gaming considering how easy Manjaro makes it for one to install/update/switch graphics drivers and kernels. Good stuff, although for Balrum you really do not need anything that fancy.

Gearbox Looking At Customer Interest For A Linux Version Of Borderlands

Quoting: liamdawePetitions are utterly useless unless you gave a team of people behind them with a lot of time to spare to manage it. It requires constantly reaching out to people, constantly trying to get a dialog with the developer doing etc etc.

People seem to think petitions will accomplish anything, they have obviously never done a successful one before.

You are better of tweet to Randy and posting here, I've sent him the link to this.
This has nothing to do with Linux, but Dark Souls did come to Windows after being exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 due to a petition. Stuff can be accomplished with petitions, it's just rare that the parties they are intended for react to them.

Quoting: WorMzyThis article has made me consider getting a Ryos MK Pro to replace my Logitech G110. I wonder if they would make one with a dvorak-uk keyboard layout, or if the keys can be easily swapped around..
Why not pop ROCCAT an email? [External Link] Employees there have been quick to respond in my experience. Mention this article while you're at it!

Sanctum 2 Mixes FPS with Tower Defence & It's Being Ported To Linux

Quoting: GuestI don't think Sanctum 1 will get a port, I think Ryan was just working on porting 2. Besides if they were releasing both, you'd think they'd port 1 first before 2, so if you have both in your Steam inventory but only 2 is showing up on Linux, I'd lose hope that 1 is ever coming.
I hope that logic doesn't apply to The Witcher as well. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is allegedly making its way to Linux, and chances of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt coming to Linux are increasing as well, but what about The Witcher? Left 4 Dead bugs me as well with Left 4 Dead 2 already being on Linux.
Yeah, of course any situation where the earlier games were popular in their own ways and have their own merits so there are gamers wanting them, they should consider them. Fact is though if a newer game is an improvement in most areas over an older one so that there is a lot more demand for it than the older one, chances are much lower for seeing a port since at that point you're talking about a percentage of a percentage. Since Linux now has enough demand to put it over the threshold for seeing some good ports, that first hump has been crossed, but good luck getting over those extra humps...

That having been said, the future will be much different, since now with most big game engines being multi-platform from the start and Linux just being another click of a button, these porting problems will go away and you'll see much easier Linux releasing, no more humps to deal with for the most part.

Except for me and the penguin. God I love Linux. >:3
I'll just give my money to those who bother, like Frozenbyte with Trine.
