Well, the SD comes with a case so it's a case of not being satisfied with that and looking around for something else.
I have 2 cases from Waterfield and they're very nice. I wish I'd got their PSVita case as well, they no longer make that, unfortunately. :-(

It looks like Mr Sweeney just doesn't want Fortnite on the Steam Deck. He's got enough players on other platforms and it weakens a competitor, so it's all good for him.
IDK if and how much he knows about Linux, but it looks like he's just throwing random things out there as an explanation why his company won't do something hoping they get repeated all over and the more people he convinces the Steam Deck is not for them the better for him.
If someone installs Windows on it they become just another Windows user Epic have to do nothing more to support. And that is that.

He doesn’t have to support all the various kernel configs, just the official SD one. Isn’t that what the chain of trust is for? Detect signed software and work, don’t and don’t.

Quoting: Liam DaweYou are obviously right.Quoting: damarrinI don't think Mr Yoshida knows what Linux is, much less that the SD is running it.So? That's a good thing, people don't actually need to know. That will go to show exactly how well it works as a gaming device. It actually makes it easier to have "the Linux talk" if they already like it ;)

The price is a problem, then.
Windows is “not free” so even if prices were the same, customers would see value in getting something that costs money as the Windows license could come in handy, even if they were planning to install Linux.
Few will buy the Linux version and it’ll be discontinued citing lack of customer interest.
