I'm sure they'll go back to being Win-only very soon. They must be cutting their corners and letting go any unprofitable parts of their business and that obviously means us.

When I click on "The Wheel of Time" link FF warns me of a potential security threat listing a adtraction domain. Not cool.

Yesterday I was upgrading Ubuntu on an old Core 2 Duo machine with a mechanical laptop drive.
I wasn't surprised that it took 2 mins to boot, though suspend is rock-stable there so it'll rarely be a problem. But FF takes almost 40 seconds to start. Because it's a snap. I didn't have time to switch to FF from the repos, but do you know what I think about snaps and Canonical's decision to make FF one? I think you do.

The Steam Deck hit me over the head with feelings of nostalgia

My experience is the opposite of Liam’s. I grew up with computers, always seated at a desk. My first console was in 2001, followed by a number of handhelds from Sony and Nintendo. I can no longer play at a desk, a couch+TV or a handheld all the way. I’m really hoping the SD will help me with my huuuge PC backlog.

The REAL question here is should we (as a species) cater to the least knowledgeable individuals or work to increase general knowledge? The former certainly makes it easier to govern.

Yeah, I don’t agree with gog here. They should keep selling the games and donate all proceeds they make from those sales to Ukraine. And put up a big banner telling their Russian costumers they’re doing it, let them vote with their wallets.
Steam Deck gets an OS update to help solve stick drift

I’d rather open up the SD and replace the stick than “just grab” a very expensive switch controller that’ll have the same problem after a while ;-) And I’m saying that as someone who has paid for new Switch controllers and who also has successfully opened them up to fix the drift.
Still, good news it’s just a software issue, those usually are much easier to fix. And Valve definitely need stricter testing standards.

Not in a position to support Linux?
They make it sound like it's some kind of huge expense or hassle.
