I'll get this for the artwork alone. It reminds me of Don Bluth's wild style (Dragon's Lair, Space Ace)!

Football Manager 2019 announced and sadly it's not coming to Linux

This is more like a case of selectively weeding the garden, than getting the Flamethrower out. All is well in the world of Linux Gaming, and I'm reminded about that everytime I look at that huge pile of good games I'm either working through, or have yet to start, and at the 47 very good looking games sitting at the top of my wishlist.

So Valve can count to 3! Could that confirm the imminent release of....naaaaa, no way!
SteamOS 3.0 is Half-Life 3.

They've decided to bring the very oldschool approach where games are also their own operating systems back.
I'm sure Half-Life 3 will be available as an Easter egg within SteamOS 3.0. That should drive SteamOS adoption through the roof!

What are you playing this weekend and what do you think about it?

Total War: Thrones of Britannia has me hooked at the moment. I'm on my 2nd campaign, as the Vikings this time, and I'm stuck in that One-More-Turn loop :dizzy:

Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption from the Quest for Glory creators is now out with Linux support

It looks like both of those Kickstarter campaigns didn't reach the stretch goal for voice acting, so is there really no voice acting in the game of that budget?

Basemark GPU is a new benchmark tool that supports Linux and many different APIs

It installs in Ubuntu 16.04 without dependency issues, but I had to change the permissions afterwards to be able to run with my standard user. You can run "Experience Mode" to see the benchmark running in a normal rendered mode.
Once again the difference in "smoothness" between OpenGL and Vulkan is clearly shown, and the GPU is loaded to 100% throughout the benchmark (set to CustomTest, 1920x1080, High Quality):

Vulkan: Score C11333, Average 113, Min 83, Max 197
OpenGL: Score C10524, Average 105, Min 13, Max 233

Total War: WARHAMMER II confirmed for Linux, to release later this year
18 Jun 2018 at 7:57 pm UTC

I never doubted for a moment that Warhammer II would come to Linux, considering how well the first part (and its DLCs) sold. This confirmatiom is very welcome in any case.

Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia is now officially available for Linux

(on topic) The best name on the map so far is Snotingaham, which is the homestead of Chieftian Snot
Good thing they changed the name to Nottingham later.

It's time to begin your descent, as the six-degree-of-freedom shooter 'Overload' is now out

Sweet, I haven't played a Descentlike game since....Descent! Looks like a go for this weekend.
I've got an old Saitek Cyborg 3D relic, so I'll see it that works in this game. The Stick itself gets regular duty in X-Plane 11, so it just depends on the game support.
