Do I need to play the Marathon games in order to understand the plot of Halo?

Quoting: denyasisI believe there are a number of Linux releases on GOG that are essentially wrapped with Wine.
Not just GoG. Iron Sky Invasion on Steam, for example, is just wrapped in vanilla Wine.

And then there are the Eon ports (Witcher 2, Bioshock Infinite, Saint's Row 3 and 4, etc.), which is just the Windows binary in a proprietary equivalent to Wine.

Quoting: 1xokIt was the Feral port of Alien: Isolation that brought me back to normal gaming. I am grateful to them for that to this day.
Alien Isolation is much better in proton. Surround sound works. DXVK is much faster than their OpenGL stuff. And you can use the Alias Isolation mod to vastly improve the graphics.

Do not underestimate the speed and accuracy of gyro aiming. It's better than mouse.

I also use different a layout for engi, as well as a specialized layout for MvM (with even more variants for engi and medic).

I doubt TF2 will ever get beyond "playable". It continues to only have "partial" controller support, which makes sense, considering the unfathomable number of controls in the game if you include all the canned voice options (13 different keys are involved). I'm able to do it all on my steam controller, but my layout is astonishingly complex, and would be quite a lot for casual players to swallow.

I doubt most players would put up with a 2-layer 16x16 touch menu and lots of chords.

Rocksmith 2014 Edition
nice.

Hope that they can get that USB-chord thingy working so that I can plug in my quitar.
RS2014 has been working with the RealTone cable for years. You just need to select it as the audio input device in winecfg.

Heck, I even managed to get it working with WineASIO and JACK for lower latency.

Quoting: superboybotI run catia (Link [External Link] through pipewire with the command pw-jack catia.
Looks like https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/pipewire-jack-dropin [External Link] allows to run stuff without typing pw-jack
Yes. It's great. All the pulse clients can talk to the JACK clients individually now, without doing crazy stuff like setting up a separate pulse-jack sink for each application.

Looks like Valve sent out quite a lot of Steam Deck developer kits

Quoting: WorMzyLooking at my Steam library, specifically at games with full controller support, I'm leaning towards The Long Dark. Might give Metro Exodus another chance, hopefully I won't get bitten by the Caspian Sea lighthouse glitch and lose all my items again.. Then there's Graveyard Keeper, something which I've been meaning to pick up again...
Caspian Sea bug was still there when I played yesterday. You can get around it by turning your graphics down to medium or low for that part.

I've been playing Rocksmith 2014 until my fingers were sore. It works great if you use the ASIO support and add WineASIO into your proton prefix.
