I just wish the arch-security guys would fix the tracker. It hasn't been updated in a while, and the log's been giving a 500 error, along with a random rude message, for months now.

I prefer the second game, but I have to admit I miss some features of the first, such as Creature Isle. Not to mention the creature variety and skirmish mode.
You had 5 choices in B&W2's base game, but the tiger and lion were functionally identical. The creature a.i. is much improved (in that it acually works half the time), but the game is also a good deal shorter. Battle of the Gods is basically the antithesis of Creature Isle, being ludicrously difficult, and somewhat double-plus-un-fun. You get a sixth creature choice, but only if you don't import a save, making things even harder for a good deity.
Man, I'm really talking myself out of playing B&W2 again. It is a bit of a slog. The fan patches help iron out issues in both games.

Quoting: neolithYou know, I can't wait for a US based petition like this. I've signed several others (none of them were gaming-related, though) in the past, two of which worked. I'm still hoping the one for Audie Murphy [External Link] to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom goes through one of these days.Quoting: _wojtekIsn't this because of the publishers/developers wanting to keep tight grip on the game? And everything having to be connected and "massive"? Quite often local clan would be more than enough to have fun...I recon it is...
It has made me personally invest a lot less time, money and effort into playing MP games though.
Which reminds me - if anyone still hasn't signed up for https://www.stopkillinggames.com/ [External Link] / https://eci.ec.europa.eu/045/public/#/screen/home [External Link] -- now's the time! :)Yes, this cannot be mentioned enough.

Edit: In fact, the whole situation is exactly of the Aseprite debacle. People who don't use Linux don't seem to get the "distribution" or "repository" concept of supporting Linux distros. Despite initially calling their projects "open source", what they really mean is collaborative-but-dictatorial.

Quoting: DesumI'm sure someone will go the Jellyfin [External Link] route with the stand-alone version sometime soon, too. Hopefully, like Jellyfin, it'll be even better than the original [External Link].Quoting: dirkdierickxCan't they simply fork the last GPL licensed version? There are plenty of instances where software changes from GPL to something else (happens quite often in enterprise oss projects), most of the time, they get forked faster than you can read the news statement of the new license in use. I'm sure if there is interest in keeping DuckStation really open, it will happen. It already has a fork with more users: Swanstation

Microsoft breaks some Linux dual-boots in a recent Windows update

The best thing an experienced Linux user can do to save their sanity is to bite the bullet and go Linux-only. Unless you're required to work with Windows-only tools, of which there are very few that won't work in WINE these days, for a job.
Back when I dual-booted with Windows, the more I used Linux, the less often I switched between them.
I realized that single-booting keeps you from tearing your hair out after booting that unused partition once every six months; realizing that you have to spend hours updating programs by hand that you could have updated with a single command in most Linux distros. Then undoing half the forced updates that destroy any reasonable expectation of privacy and install snake-oil "security" tools from "trusted partners"...
Windows used to have a form of Unix-like protections available, but none of them were ever without flaws. See EMET et al.
It's a vicious cycle that I got sick of entirely around 2016!
