I've played every single Kingdom Hearts game, and I'll say this, Disney x Final Fantasy is easily the best crossover ever made in a video game.
Fair warning, despite the premise being silly, the lore is extremely deep. You literally have to play most of the side games to understand the story of II and III. Fortunately, a few of the more obtuse handheld ones got re-released with the compilations as fully voiced ~2hr movies, so new players wouldn't have to suffer through playing them.
Tv Tropes [External Link] has extensive articles on all the games, and each game has a separate headscratcher page.
An understanding of certain philosophies that regard the body, mind, and soul as entirely separate also helps. The tv tropes page has the following quote:

Everyone has a Heart, Soul, and Body. Well, every normal person. Individual worlds also have Hearts, and in-game text alludes to them being somewhat sentient. Memory is also part of the equation, hinted to be another aspect of the Heart.
The Body is Exactly What It Says on the Tin—the thing that holds the Heart and is animated by the Soul.
The Heart contains the emotions and identity of an individual, and are made up of light and darkness. If the Heart is overcome by Darkness, it can separate itself from the Body and Soul and become a Heartless. It's accepted by most characters that a person without a Heart isn't really a person at all. The reality is slightly less complex; anyone or anything that wants to think of itself as a person can likely generate a Heart.
The Soul is seemingly simple—it's the animating force that gives life and movement to a body and heart. It's also translated as "Spirit" and synonymous with "Will" later in the series. Theoretically, if you somehow give or transplant a soul to an object, that object will gain a mind of its own and move around. In extreme circumstances, the Soul by itself could be enough to keep a Body moving. When a Heartless is formed, the Body and Soul left behind may reanimate into a Nobody, if the individual was particularly strong-willed.
Memory is hinted to be similar to one's Mind, and is critical to the function of a Heart, but not entirely the same. Nobodies have no Hearts but retain Memory to teach them how to fake emotions, Replicas are Artificial Humans made of Memory, and Memory can be used to strengthen or weaken one's Heart. Additionally, Chain of Memories says memories of different people can be connected, like links in a chain, and that chain can be broken, mended or reorganized. This means that as Sora forgets people as he proceeds through Castle Oblivion, the people he forgets about forget him, too.

The series high point was Civ4 if you ask me, I still play it to this day. The Ashes of Erebus [External Link] modmod of Fall from Heaven 2 is probably my favorite total conversion. The BUG Mod [External Link] is all I need for vanilla.
Man, I hate trailers with a complete lack of gameplay! That makes me far from encouraged for Civ7. Give me a square grid, Leonard Nimoy, and a doomstack, or give me pizza pie [External Link]!

Quoting: Linux_RocksAlso, I've probably played Civilization II: Test of Time the most. The bastard remake of II that was meant to compete with Alpha Centauri. I liked it myself. 👀Me too, particularly the fantasy campaign! I really enjoyed the "two maps in one" bit.

Here's hoping for 50% in 2025!
Seriously though, the tomfoolery that Windows 11 gets up to [External Link] may just force a bunch of folks to say "Screw it!".
I mean, they're having to jump through more hoops to get older programs working than I had to with WINE on Maverick Meerkat circa 2010! (If you're wondering, Civ4 was the first game I ever installed via WINE; it was relatively painless, even back then.)
Including using WINE's own libraries compiled for Win32/Wow64! I ran afoul of this very thing when I had to replace my sister's dead laptop hybrid HDD and decided to upgrade it to something reasonably modern from Windows 8.1. (She's decidedly anti-Linux.):sick::sick:
I haven't even used Windows since 7 in 2016. Nice to know I have absolutely nothing to regret about that.

Quoting: ssj17vegetaYup, that's why we don't always get feature parity.Quoting: PublicNuisance"Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: Denuvo Anti-tamper"I think it does not on Linux, only on Windows.
While i'm glad it has a native Linux version this will be a pass for me.

That particular one always gets me, my father used to raise Walker Coonhounds [External Link]. Still hunts on occasion.
But there are also plenty of counterpoints [External Link], too. [External Link]

Given the game's impending doom, I finally bit the bullet and bought Samurai Jack - Battle Through Time [External Link] and, as a fan of the series, I'm loving it!
$40 bucks is worth it to
erm, I mean, to play a faithful continuation/interquel!

I knew when they announced the update that it would have teething problems. What I hate is the fact that Bethesda always seems to go out of their way to break their own stuff in new updates.:dizzy: Modding goes without saying.
Fortunately, I've always set their games to only update when launched. I also use a very simple script to run mod organizer 2 in each separate prefix.

This is great, but, realism be darned, I would like to have an old-school centered option as well as left and right. The only shooter I'm any good at is Wolf3D:cry:.
Without revealing too much, Cerebral palsy [External Link] has left () me left-handed. Thus, in non-turn-based games, I'm usually resigned to using a controller or joystick.
I wish more games would still let one use either the mouse or keyboard exclusively, instead of requiring me to juggle both. The only ways I can manage to move in pc games that require both are mashing W or the up arrow with my right thumb. But after ~30 years of using computers, I'm somewhat used to it.
