Grow Home From Ubisoft Looks Like It Will Come To Linux

The only other game I can think of besides this, without uPlay (granted I don't research too much on them) that would be a treat to port over is South Park Stick of Truth by Obsidian. Both are good games and their success spoke on their own without the need to be some sort of fatigued franchise plagued by sequelitus.
Anyway, fingers crossed for this.
Also, it is worth noting the developer himself who made Grow Home expressed some interest in a Linux port, but I believe wanted to confirm a way to do it with the publisher's (Ubisoft) permission. It's in the Steam forum, I'd have to search for the thread again, so don't take my words verbatim.

Well, not (mostly wishful thinking on my end). He didn't say much at all except

Hey Dablim, no plans beyond PC for the time being, but if all goes well then who knows?Better than nothing though!
I'm a simple artist and don't have a PC at home, so I'm personally holding out for a Mac release!

ZOTAC Have A Trailer To Show Off Their NEN Steam Machine

I know we're so use to being pessimistic about companies even giving a shit about Linux, but can we at least see what happens around the holidays (hell, or even a week or two after launch)?
My guess is Zotac had to pull it because someone noticed (probably Valve) that they were advertising games not compatible with it. Even if they make a foot note, it's still a pretty sloppy move.

Quoting: BillNyeTheBlackGuyYeah, keep dreaming pal.To be fair, no one even knew about the previously announced launch titles. The whole process isn't even open to Linux users. Considering Alienware was boasting about 800 launch titles (then got postponed) coming to SteamOS before it even was a thing, clearly something is going on in the background we aren't being told about.

This is guy is more worthy of an article (unlike reviewers, he actually uses the damn thing):
View video on youtube.com
His tweet afterwards:
"If there was somehow to get Emulators running on the Alienware Steam Machine, this thing would be GOD Tier." [External Link]
Just shows Valve needs to invest into their Desktop Mode just as much as their BPM.

Because it makes me a bit bitter to even mention it, I'm going to lighten the mood and say Skullgirls was the best surprise for me. Unlike GSTD, they actually pulled through and earned my trust. I hope their Indivisible campaign [External Link] pulls through (LabZero will disband if it doesn't...), the Linux prototype is just amazing.

Quoting: loggeGiana Sisters Twisted DreamsI think the most insulting thing about it, is that we've received the biggest runaround for a delay ever. It only slightly tops DoS because everyone stopped caring at this point.

What are you trying to get out of me? To be specific on how terrible it is (I mean I can if you want me to, but you derailed this topic so hard enough)? Or that I'm suppose to be "mad" about RockSteady's port? Fuck man, I don't know how many times I have to say this but, THEY AREN'T DOING THE LINUX PORT.
Now THAT is what is irrelevant.

Quoting: maodzedunHow is you not being a hardcore gamer or not purchasing EA in any way related to the performance of games in Windows.I didn't make it a relevant statement to start with, you required it to be the butt of the conversation. I made an observation, you attacked me.
If anything it shows you don't really know what you're talking about. Which btw is clear because for all it's shortcomings (mostly security related) if Windows 10 can be praised for something it is solid gaming experienced.Again, you're trying to make me acquire some sort of gamer "credentials" for Windows Land. I don't have to do business with EA or RockSteady for this subject. I can still test cross-platform games and software to get an informed opinion on Windows 10 "gaming". It blows, chunks, from my experience. However, my original claim wasn't to be an informative opinion. It was just a blanket OPINION and how Microsoft further ceases to amaze me how they can fuck up their own OS, on an ethical level (read the damn public private policy yourself) and a technical level.

I realize I may have chosen the wrong tone in my previous post and I apologize for that, but I stand firmly behind my statement - you clearly do not know what you're talking about.Even if I didn't SIN to test out the horrors of Windows 10 (which sadly I did and barfed all over it), I can still tell you from all the information I gather on it in the public eye, that it's a piece of shit. All you are doing, is saying "You have no right to an opinion because you're not a gaming elitist like I am". You can go piss off with that nonsense.

Windows 10 is going to take more RAM (every Windows does, for whatever new "feature" they want to add). Whether it takes 12 GB or 8 GB, doesn't make that statement wrong. Sorry you're offended by the Windows 10 Skynet comment. Get some more new RAM or hardware if you thought a "free" upgrade was totally worth the sanity check to feed your corporate overlords.
Of course I'm going to invest in this game when it comes to Linux. It's a completely different porting company doing it (with an approval rating from me so far).

Quoting: maodzedunOh, please - you're just a hating fanboy. This has absolutely NOTHING to do with Windows. The game runs like sh*t. Feel free to check out the Steam sub-forum. The Witcher III and Battlefield 4 run at 1440p with less than 8GB of RAM but the "amazing" Batman needs 12GB of RAM for 1080p. If you bothered to actually check things before you made absurd statements you'd know that Arkham City has sub par performance to this day and Origins is plain broken with WB refusing to fix it because there was no "Steam Refund" policy at the time of its release. Feel free to recall this come spring 2016 when Arkham Knight hits Linux and it runs like absolute a**.Wow, simmer down there salty Joe. Could care less what you just said after "hating fanboy". I have no clue what that even means. I will say this though, I love Batman. Did I ever buy a game from who you are talking about? Nope. So now I'm obligated to care about that company? Why? Hell, why should I give a shit about Battlefield 4? I never touch EA games to begin with. Sounds to me it's your own personal problem, and I don't have to be an obsessive diehard gamer to see that.

Just looked at the Windows patch notes [External Link].
For Windows 10 users, we’ve found that having at least 12GB of system RAM on a PC allows the game to operate without paging and provides a smoother gameplay experience.People are whining about this, but to be frank, this is why Windows 10 is trash for gamers. Well it's trash to begin with, but those complaining about this I doubt understand Rocksteady isn't at fault. Their launch was definitely their fault, but the RAM requirements is all on Microsoft's unnecessary background spyware noise. If they really don't care about their OS spying on them, Windows 10 users have no one else to blame but themselves in this situation.

Never got into the AD&D stuff, seems interesting to check out. I'm still holding out for X-COM 1 & 2 mostly (only on Steam for Windows o.O).
Also, what's with all the other DosBox games not available for Linux? Doom, Wolfenstein, etc. It's like EA and Bethesda are intentionally getting in the way for this. I mean, at least we know EA is a cunt when it comes to this, anyway. Still not sure of Bethesda's official stance on Linux/SteamOS (wish someone from Feral / Aspyr / VP would port their modern titles...).
