Hot Lava from Klei Entertainment is in the works for Linux

I've been waiting for this one since I was five and the floor really was hot lava. It went onto my wishlist last November and whether I would be playing it with Wine or Valve's nascent Steam Play, I knew I would be playing it...and LO! It's coming to Linux! I'm so stoked!

Valve have already begun tweaking the new Steam Library Beta

Yay, it stopped breaking and becoming inaccessible. It's still surprisingly heavy on the CPU, which jumps from around 1.15 GHz to 3.00 GHz when I scroll---but it's better than Big Pic Mode now, so that's a step in the right direction.

I like the (curiously) named "dynamic" filters thing. I set one for "Free to Play." Nice.

This is already starting to grow on me.

The new Steam Library Beta is officially out for you to try

On a scale of 1 to 5 I give it a KLUNK.

Slow, bloated, CPU intensive, prone to lockup, and inscrutable to customize, Steam has swapped out an awkward library for one made from gold plated horse shit. I'll keep using the Beta, but it will be the Big Picture beta until this thing comes back from the intensive surgery it so desperately needs.

Famed Computer Scientist Richard Stallman Described Epstein Victims As 'Entirely Willing'

What Stallman actually wrote:
Quoting: StallmanWe can imagine many scenarios, but the most plausible scenario is that she presented herself to him as entirely willing.

Assuming she was being coerced by Epstein, he would have had every reason to tell her to conceal that from most of his associates.

Just---wow. I'll wait for the reviews to come in, but unless there's something really broken in the design, this will be the first game I'll have paid full price for since Fallout 4.

Hello Games continue fixing up Linux issues for No Man's Sky in Steam Play

I'm actually worried that if I buy No Man's Sky I'll never play anything else ever again. Their improving the Linux performance isn't helping. :P

Manjaro Linux 18.1.0 'Juhraya' has been officially released

Quoting: NanobangAs I reinstalled Ubuntu Mate, I wondered why, if Manjaro could determine that I had an Optimus setup, would the DE offer me an option that would bork my OS? Rather than get an answer, I decided I wasn't ready for the thing.
In my experience, when you install Manjaro into a VM, it will install every Nvidia driver! Of course the VM is not using real GPU acceleration and those drivers are useless in the VM. I don't think removing the drivers was an option, either, because it was a dependency of the hardware detection tool, which was a dependency of the Manjaro Core suite.
Interesting. So something about an Optimus setup confounds Manjaro? Maybe they'll integrate Nvidia's Optimus GPU switcher and somehow use it to present a better GPU selection for the Optimus-burdened user.
