I've made up a new word! It's "vute." Right? It's for games like this that are both violent and cute!
"Vute" purists insist that the violence itself must also be cute for a game to be considered truly "vute," but most folks are ok with a game that looks cute but has non-cute violence also being called "vute." As one guy in Berlin said, "what else are you going to call it?"
Oh, god. There's already "vute" factions. Anyway, wishlisted. :)

Well, I'm pleased. Restarting after the new update didn't result in having to re-install a few dozen games worth of shaders ... again. Yay! All the other things are good too. ;)
Starbound's massive 1.4 "Bounty Hunter" update is out now

I got pretty sucked in to this game on vacation last summer, only to find out that my character wasn't cloud saved and was doomed to live on my laptop. So I started again on my desktop and when I got to the first boss ... let's just say I was no longer "Starbound" because I gave up after my umpteenth death.
Still, if any of this new update is available at the beginning then I might go back and play more "Planetbound." I have plenty of that first planet to hollow out, after all.

Anything Steam can do to improve either of their clients will be something I'll look forward to. I kinda like the big banner of the game there at the top more than the current faded one we have now (even if the one we have now might use a screenshot of ours). This one seems to make better use of the screen's space too, though fonts are still too small to read on my TV screen with any ease.
I'd like to see maybe a "tags" list, or perhaps the same pop-up we get when hovering over a title on the Store page. Sometimes I can't remember enough details about a game from just its name and a picture alone, but this is a minor nicety than any feature I feel is missing.

Maybe look over the ProtonDB reports and see if anyone with a similar setup to you had/is having similar probs as you and maybe what work-arounds they might have discovered?

Quoting: EhvisNot entirely sure why people are so happy with Proton on this one.Going by the ProtonDB reports for Borderlands 2 [External Link], there seems to be quite a range of experiences of performance. My guess is that we who are happy with Proton (specifically SteamPlay, in my case) are mostly the lucky ones who're not having problems---not any major ones, at least.

Quoting: sergeit's easy ...So many things are, but it takes someone (I'm looking at you serge) who will take the time and patience to explain things clearly and concisely for it to become easy for others.

Downloaded it last night right after playing a Borderlands GOTY session with my Bro-in-Law. We're gonna start new character's for a new (SteamPlay) Borderlands 2 campaign and play it all the way through with this new DLC too. Sooo excited.
Btw, I don't use Proton outside of SteamPlay, but I hear D9VK can improve (what's already excellent) performance. Is it possible (or even recommended ?) to use D9VK with Proton-as-SteamPlay (as opposed to, say, Proton-as-separate WINE alternative)? If so, how would a varmint like me go about making that happen?

Quoting: no_information_here- Right thumb-pad for First Person games. As long as you aren't doing something competitive, this is the best thing next to a mouse.Exactly!
Quoting: no_information_hereThings I don't like:A suggestion, if you haven't tried it yet. For platformers, set the Lpad as a DPad (4 or 8 way) that fires on touch instead of click. For my money this is a thousand times more responsive than the other console pads I've used. :)
- Left thumb pad. I really want a D-pad instead for many platformers. I find it interesting that other people like the left pad, so it is obviously a personal thing.
Quoting: no_information_hereMinor things ... Batteries hard to remove sometimes.I meant to say something when Liam mentioned this. Early on I learned that Panasonic's "Eneloop" rechargeable batteries [External Link] fit perfectly. They're all I've used ever since my first purchase in 2015, and I've not had to buy any more since then.
Hope that helps. :)
