Feral Interactive have released an open source tool that’ll help get the most performance out of Linux games

Quoting: Sputnik_tr_02I have been using cpufreq for this. If you are on ubuntu just install cpufrequtils and indicator-cpufreq then reboot, now you can see a tray icon for cpufreq and you can switch between modes at any time with a single click.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I installed indicator-cpufreq just now and, wow, what a difference it makes gaming!

Quoting: nitroflow
Quoting: NanobangI was all set to buy this yesterday, but my brakes locked up when I saw the word "Beta." As stoked as I am to play this game (at last) I can't get past paying full price for less than the full release. Ah, well, I've waited this long. I'll wait a bit longer for the final release, or for the next time it goes on sale, whichever comes first. Either way, [in deep, sinister, echo-y voice] It. Will. Be. MINE!
You can always sign up for humble monthly this month.
Confound you and your sanity and reason!! Now I have make a choice to change my mind, my plans and---and---

Damn, I'm exausted just thinking about all that work. I'm gonna take a nap.

But good point though ;)

So. Looking forward to DXVK's continued success and the day that I can just check that little "Enable DXVK" box and voilà, magic.

BadLands RoadTrip is an incredibly strange open-world FPS with customizable weapons

Awwww, I was hoping this would magically be better than it looked to be. The free floating weapons look lame in all those virtual reality games I've seen (why is this a thing?) and they look triply so here. I could overlook it if the game turned out to be worthy of the word "zany," or one of its synonyms. But it's not, so I can't. Pooh.

Ash of Gods gets a large post-launch patch that seeks to address various shortcomings

Thanks for the update. Your original review (well done, by the way) made it clear to me that I'd be waiting to for the flaws to be fixed before I'd be putting any coin down on this one. It's good to see that the devs here appear to be of the "fix what's broke, improve what's fixed" variety. Please, keep us updated. :)

Fort Triumph, a tactical RPG where you make use of the environment enters Early Access on April 26th

This is what I want in a turn-based RPG: freedom of movement! Wishlisted!

RPG Tower of Time has a big update to their Linux build, leaving Early Access this month

I just bought ToT this past weekend, Huzzah! It strikes me as incredibly generous of the devs to put so much energy into trying
"to make it work on as many distributions as possible,"
and not just limiting it to "Ubuntu 12."

Silly racing game Foreveracers is now out on Steam, it's pretty good

I just saw this last night and wishlisted it so I wouldn't forget about it. It reminds me of another silly-racer drive-amok game, Crash Drive 2 [External Link].

Reading about the "Rust Bucket" mode just now has got me muy excited---so excited that I just went ahead and bought it. It's so novel. I'd love to see other games add a "conversion" PvP mode like this. I hope they'll offer "4 pack" sales too, so we could buy a set for friends. :)
