On the bright side (for me), I doubt I would have purchased it anyway ... just not the sort of game that interests me. On the very, very bright side, I won't have to feel guilty that I don't want to buy someone's Linux port.
And can we start calling him Johnathan Blows, now? Too easy?

It doesn't look like Homefront: The Revolution is going to come to Linux any time soon

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoThe port is being developed by a single guy... just one guy... Probably adhonorem...A one man effort would explain a lot. And contrary to much of the sentiment expressed here, I've been looking forward to this game from the beginning. There have indeed been mixed reviews, but the RPS review was the one that confirmed for me that this would be a game I would enjoy immensely.
If You look at SteamDB, You gonna see that a new DLC is in the works...
The Linux version will be here after the release of all DLCs
Some thoughts on the Shadowrun series

But, as you say, it's an easy mistake to make. :)

Quoting: scaineUmmmm, it looks to me that the evidence would favor drmoth's assertion that the spelling is "roguelike" not "rougelike." "Rouge" [External Link] is makeup applied to one's cheeks, whereas a [rogue](https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/rogue) was an unprincipled person and also the protagonist of the 1980 game Rogue [External Link] from which the term "Roguelike" [External Link] draws its meaning.Quoting: HamishHaha, but it's still rouge, not rogue. I don't think he was annoyed by the capitalisation...!Quoting: drmothNo problem, read again, I have indulged you. ;)rougelikeRoguelike!!
(sorry, it's my pet hate)
Not a pet hate of mine, but an easy mistake to make.

Some thoughts on the Shadowrun series

Kudos to Hamish for a well written look into what makes Shadowrun Returns so popular to so many people. It reminds me how much I had wanted to be one of them.
I'd like to finish Shadowrun Returns, but I simply haven't been able to muster the interest to read any further. I enjoyed the combat bits quite a lot, but the endless text just didn't hold my interest and I would find myself just clicking through it.
Part of it was that all that reading didn't feel like I was actually playing a game, which is what I was there to do. I kept thinking "This is just a sort of interactive script-like thing with some fight-y bits here and there."
I enjoy reading, and I've enjoyed reading scripts too ... but I didn't enjoy my reading in Shadowrun Returns. I can't give specific examples of the sort of things that specifically turned me off because it's been too long since I last read it. But What I can remember is thinking that the writing was ponderous, overwrought, and largely thinly veiled expository.
And I wish it were otherwise, I really do. I love the look of the game, the allusions to the world and its workings. Shadowrun Returns is where I learned that I could enjoy turn-based combat, and so a whole new genre was opened up for me. But the writing, the writing became a wall of text I simply couldn't climb.

Microsoft has never done anything nice or good for anybody but Microsoft, and whatever feeds the Lords of Redmond will be cut from the flesh of the rest of us.
So while I don't understand what this means to GLSL, HLSL, SPIR-V (because I don't know what GLSL, HLSL, SPIR-V even are, lol) I do know Microsoft is scheming to feed again, and that this latest money-grubbing skulduggery is aimed at open source software and that concerns me.

The interesting survival game 'Raft' has dropped Linux support

I downloaded a version sometime last week, though I haven't played it beyond starting it up. It seemed to work, so maybe I'll get lucky and will be able to play the version as long as I don't update it.
It is a pity that it won't be on the most important platform ever, but a lot of aspiring Linux game makers are simply not of a high enough caliber and must fall back to one step above Flash games: Windows.
So, Raft isn't coming to Linux? Ummmmmmm --- yup. I'm already over it.

Albion Online announce new equipment, new PvE content and more coming in the 'Galahad' update

I'm really glad to hear that Albion Online is providing more content for the PvE-centric players. I'm not much for PvP play in anything more complicated than backgammon, and up till now Albion has seemed almost wholly given over to PvP play. I'll be interested in following this game more closely if it continues to move in this direction.
FUN FACT: I never would have heard of Albion Online had I not been reading GoL! :D

So they're not just incompetent liars, they're also puss-laden assholes, Ok, well, I can forgive them being sub-par developers. I can even get over adding another lying game publisher to my growing voodoo doll collection. But that video? Well, lines were crossed, weren't they. Perhaps we should heed the higher call of Bugs Bunny when he said, "This means war." To whit:
Draw upon that creativity you know you have and retaliate with parody and satire, cartoons and videos.
If you own any of their titles, give those titles bad reviews and encourage sympathizers to do the same.
Follow the Steam curator: Broken Linux Promises [External Link], and urge others to do the same.
Join the Steam group: Anti-Consumer Practices Report [External Link] and report this game to them, citing this article.
Reach out to and unite with any and all Mac users (who were also screwed) to increase the ruckus.
Reach out to your Windows friends to join you, not because they so much care about the affairs of Linux, but because they are able to recognize arrogant, unscrupulous con-men and be outraged as well.
Finally, I don't recommend stealing their game, but --- steal their game.
