Dying Light - Hellraid gets a big upgrade from Techland with a fresh story

When I look at Hellraid I can only see Dying Light without all the delightful gobbets and blood and parkour. It just looks so underwhelming ... like an empty piñata: all cardboard, no candy.

If anyone can recommend a good gateway JRPG or three, available at a low, low, low no risk price (< $2 / €2 / £1.40) I'd be keen to give it a try. I'd like to see if I could get immersed enough to look past the characteristic immobile combat of these games. I love the graphically stylized and beautiful look of JRPGs (though the difference between sleek anime cutscenes and toddling doll gameplay is almost as distracting as it is confuddling).

This seems to offer a better solution than any dedicated Steam Handheld I can think of. Indeed, now that I think about it, I've got a few extra phone holders for the car that could pretty easily be modded to fit my Steam Controller ... hmmmm

Beautifully recreates the look and feel of those RPG classics from the early aughts. I remember playing Deux Ex (only $0.97 US at Steam right now, btw [External Link] like three or four times straight through, back in the day. Wishlisted!

Oooo, I'll be the same way if the map's complex. If it is then I hope they provide a mini-map or make each level fairly linear by limiting side-branching (like Half-Life) or use some sort of directional overlay in the HUD (like in Army of Two), or something.

It's gonna stay on my wishlist, sure, but I'll pause before plunking down mi dinero and look more closely at the final product before I buy it.
