Comments section tells me that I've been here for eleven years. I guess that makes me something of a veteran. You can thank me for my service 🫑.

What changes have I experienced in Linux gaming seen since 2015?

The maturation of Wayland.

Breaking the 5% barrier.

Windows API translation as a legitimate and viable solution.

Steam Machines 1. Steam Machines 2, almost.

The cleansing of AMD graphics drivers into a proper open source stack.

64 bit Steam client (okay, it's within sight, guys just let me have this one).

Now native on Linux: Starfox 64, Super Mario 64, Lego Island, Super Smash Bros. 64, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, Grand Theft Auto III, Mario Kart 64, and many more classics on the way 🍿

SuperTuxKart 1.0!

When did Valve bring Steam to GNU/Linux? I seem to recall that, when I first switched (back in 2012), gaming was still very much 'install Steam in a wine prefix, preferably one prefix per game so you can change setting on a game-by-game basis'. Also, profile tells me I registered in April 2014, over two years ago (okay, a decade over two years, but who's counting?).

It was in beta during late 2012 and released early 2013.
