Looks like Homefront: The Revolution might not have a day-1 Linux release

If they don't get it out day one, I'll forgive 'em. Deep Silver has more than enough Linux Good Karma points to balance it out.

What game would you most like to see on Linux this year?

Saints Row 2.

Less realistic runners up:
Just Cause 3
GTA V

You can 'Paint the Town Red' with this first person melee combat game, on Steam's Early Access

Glad to see GoL give a shout out to this bit of clever ultraviolence. I envied a Windows friend having this, so when it came out on Linux I snapped it up --- a rare EA purchase. Apparently co-op [External Link] is slated for later this year.

Tomb Raider, the awesome 2013 version looks like it's heading to SteamOS & Linux

How certain is this forecasted release? Not for nothin', but I'm still looking achingly at Darksiders 1 & 2 on my wishlist, thinking of what almost was --- what yet might be. Le sigh.

Valve have finally fixed the upcoming SteamOS & Linux game filter, nearly a year later
30 Jan 2016 at 3:43 pm UTC

Whew! I used to have to add "Windows" to the Upcoming filter to see Linux games (past page 1) then scan for the little round Steam circle. This is going to save a lot of time and squinting. A hearty huzzah, indeed.

OUYA is blocking a Linux version of That Dragon, Cancer being on Steam

I wonder. Has anyone seen the how many Linux gamers there are vs. Ouya gamers? I can't stop thinking, "Ouya? We lost out to Ouya?"

Carmageddon: Reincarnation still aiming for a Linux version
31 Dec 2015 at 2:57 pm UTC

Quoting: omer666I hope they won't go larian on this one, as I love Carmageddon and was really excited by this project.
Good point, but I feel hopeful that they won't. The way I see it, Larian's crime wasn't in the delay itself, but in the endless stream of broken "promises" about when a linux port would be released. Based solely on the provided quote above, it appears Stainless Games isn't going to follow Larian's misstep.

I'm looking forward to playing Carmaggedon on Linux, whenever that happens.

Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition released for Linux & SteamOS, now downloads!

Sigh. Stanley Parable, Saint's Row, and now Divinity: Original Sin . . . I have no more unreleased promised releases to brood over endlessly.

But . . .Oh!! --- Oh YES!!!! --- I still have Darksiders 1 & 2!!!!! Yay!!!!! I thought --- Oh! Mmmmmm, yes. Good, good. I can already feel the cold smolder of chronic bitterness returning to reclaim the more desolate reaches of my soul.

Looks like the PAYDAY 2 developers have begun working on the SteamOS & Linux version
16 Dec 2015 at 1:20 pm UTC

Payday 2 was the reason I originally kept a windows partition. I had about 800 hours on my old Xbox 360 version and over 1,000 hours on the PC version. I'm hoping the Linux save files aren't compatible with the PC files. It will give me a good reason to start over from scratch.

Steam Controller updated, you can name it, take configs with you, adjust the light & bleep and more
16 Dec 2015 at 1:10 pm UTC

A possible word of caution: this new update seems to have broken custom config saves for me. I'll look into the settings more closely, but as of last night saving (now called exporting) a configuration only saved the name, but not the bindings. The bindings were all default gamepad bindings, regardless of the original template.

It was late last night when this happened to me, and I haven't yet gone to Steam or Reddit to see if this is a problem others are having en masse, whether it's OS specific, if there are workarounds, etc. And I haven't looked into it yet this morning, but when I saw this article I thought I should mention the issue so others would be aware of it. :)
