I don't understand that Valve isn't talking CDPR into a Linux release on steam. I mean, they see as we do, that there will be a native Linux port of the game, which is missing just a tiny* bit of extra effort for a Linux release on Steam.

Come on Valve. For Stadia games in general. The extra effort they need to be convinced to do is so small that Valve wouldn't need to get out their big guns/sponsorships/whatever. Offer them to take 1% less from their revenue for a year if they provide a proper and working Linux version or something trivial like that.

It just feels like Valve is missing the low hanging fruits here with not getting Stadia games on Linux for Steam. They are doing all the driver and kernel involvements but skip the final blow.

*comparing it to the whole port

As an afterthought: Feral could provide the Stadia-to-Linux-Steam effort and support

Well, and here is me. Me hoped that the stadia experience would be kinda solid, giving Valve enough reasons to push full steam ahead (haha! sry) using the Linux container env as cloud env allowing us to play all the AAA games as they enter steam cloud gaming... Bye bye, me playing Red Dead Redemption 2 natively on Linux... :'(

One can have dreams, okay :P

HopFrog is removing Linux support from Forager and MacOS is not coming now either (updated)

I ... I dont understand. How do you develop on code... as a team... without having some sort of copy? I mean logistically. Even if you copy your code from your dev machine to the server, there is a copy. The only two ways I can imagine to achieve this scenario is that they either all worked directly on that server (RDP or ssh (latter probably not?)) or used it as network share. I mean, it feels ... hard to accomplish this. Setting up a network share or managing RDP sessions (who can when code) feels like a lot more work than just throwing git at it.
Its not easy to fuck it up so hard, so in some way, I am actually impressed. Just in a really bad way.

This COULD be THE game changer, although I dont believe cloud gaming will be a serious thing...

Also what comes into my mind is the OpenGL passthrough-ish support of KVM...
Is a Vulkan equivalent in the working?

MAinstream gaming on Cloud-Linux-VMs... That this though isn't utterl bullshit... What a time to be alive :)

Neat. Sad it takes at least until Ubuntu 19.04 or 19.10 to see the stutter-fixes, regardless of when those are actually implemented.

First I was like "lets gift it to Liam and make him play it on stream", well and then I saw the prize. A bit high for a desperate happy Liam. You lucky boy I am sorry.
