Collectors edition exclusive race.

Looks to become the usual dlc mess modern gaming is rife with, meh

Shadowrun: Hong Kong gets free Extended Edition update

Actually, I find 'extended edition' quite descriptive: extra gaming content. The 'extended edition deluxe' had me scratching my head for a while.

Goat Simulator appears to be getting a new DLC, the trailer is good

That marketing looks to be shooting itself in the foot; I love supporting indie devs, provided they make stuff I like. Goatsim is not in that category, so the video looks just like some bullshitting, no different from aaa, to me.

Sunday Section: What Was Your Biggest Linux Gaming Letdown So Far This Year?

I've been so happy with Devolver digital's linux output and Jotun that I just can't remember the letdowns.

Also, avoiding aaa titles for the last ten years probably also helped ^_^

Magicka 2 Now In Beta For Linux

2 annoyances: the paradox account nagging and dlc ads in the start screen. Enough reasons for me to instant refund.

(got more games than time to finish them, so I have zero tolerance for BS)

Hacking Simulator Hacknet Released, Eventually Coming To Linux
14 Aug 2015 at 10:15 pm UTC

Quoting: MyeulCIt's now on my wishlist (well.. Sort of). The best (imo) hacking simulation I have tried to date is uplink. Any word on how this title cimpares against it? (besides the fact that it doesnt' seem gui-based :P )
Thanks for reminding me, still need to dig in the hollywood-style-hacking-sim of choice.

Endless Runner Canabalt Released On Steam For Linux

Note: if you have the humble bundle Canabalt version you get a steam key!

This new version's performance is finally good enough that I can retire the c64 version I have been playing.

GOG Treat Linux Gamers To More Star Wars, Star Wars: Rebel Assault 1 + 2 Now Available
29 Apr 2015 at 11:22 am UTC

I have found gog linux releases to be excellent. So far I have not used the money back guarantee on my ubuntu 14.04 system, not even for the wine releases (in my case planescape torment).

They also don't go out of their way to break unofficial ways of installing a game on your linux system. If linux is not supported by gog for the game in question, it is very easy to extract the required data from the installation files to install your games in your linux install of dosbox/scummvm.

Gabe Newell Takes To Reddit To Answer Questions On Steam Paid Mods
26 Apr 2015 at 12:47 pm UTC

I suspect one of the main reasons for the huge backlash is that paid mods, like most monetisations, will quickly turn into a cynical money grab for some publishers. One can easily see the ways in which publishers could pester modders into turning their work into paid mods; they certainly will find new more imaginative ways, just as in the case of dlc in paid games and pre-order packages.

Star Ruler 2, A Massive Scale Strategy Game, Here's My Thoughts
16 Apr 2015 at 3:47 pm UTC

So far, I am liking what I see. The last space 4x game I've played being moo2 (so don't know how it compares to the present alternatives), I am impressed by some aspects of the interface; tabbed playing and in-game access to the wiki should imo from now on be featured in every 4x game.
