ARK: Survival Evolved gains a paid DLC while still being in Early Access, reviews are destroying it
15 Sep 2016 at 4:54 pm UTC

When I quit ARK in late 2015 it had lots of corrupted texture in rainbow and black colours in Linux. Managing a server was also a pure nightmare if you wanted to use mods. You kind of have to use mods cause the core content is mediocre and incomplete. Lots of mod corruption and problems every update that was every other day back then. Me and my friends just gave up. I removed my game from steam.

Glad that the ARK devs get so much flak for their paid DLC. They are still in early access. Releasing a paid DLC at this time is immoral, and anyone who buys this is doing every other consumer a disservice.

Note: I think I had over 1k hours played in ARK.

Which errors are you getting?

One of the most common errors for compiling programs is either missing packages that is needed to compile or missing dependencies for the program.

Seems a bit odd that Valve tries to market their steam machine but don't let people in certain countries order the steam controller.

I'd rather play the finished product anyway. I played the PoE beta and it didn't give me half as much enjoyment as the finished product.

Civilization 5. It's a pretty fun game, but damn that Oda Nobunaga ...

I stopped reading ars technica with the whole gamergate thing. And ars are windows fanboys. I never expect anything good from their articles anyway.

Editorial: Valve have not abandoned SteamOS or Linux, things are looking pretty good

Good post Liam. I think we should consider how big the Windows gaming market was when games started coming to Linux.

I remain hopeful as there have been some pretty interesting games released for Linux lately and we will likely see many more once Vulkan gets further in the development process. I imagine that some developers / publishers are holding off until they can use Vulkan in a good development stage.
