Alien: Isolation Released For Linux, Prepare Your Spare Pants, Port Report, Review & Sale

Nice! I had kind of hoped the delay was to add AMD support, though.

Is the best way to buy it still through the Feral store? https://store.feralinteractive.com/en/us/games/alienisolation/ [External Link]

Developers Of Ashes Of The Singularity State Linux Will Come After Vulkan Arrives
27 Oct 2015 at 12:05 pm UTC

So since Vulkan isn't out yet but they are involved in creating Vulkan, have they already started porting to Vulkan using what tools are currently available, or will they start after the official release when everything's in place?

GOL Game Jam Has Entered Rating Phase

Quoting: erx700I tested Godot Miami on Ubuntu 14.04. It worked "out of the box" like Godot Engine.
http://www.godotengine.org/ [External Link]
Godot engine (64bit) works out of the box, but Godot Miami is 32-bit, so I needed libxcursor1:i386 and libssl1.0.0:i386, that finally got it to run.
In my 3rd attempt I actually managed to smash 2 or 3 guys before they got me. :)

Quoting: bubexelfirst people say my game is not linux native, when others made game with Unity that is Mono C# the same runtime i'm using for my game.
If this is referring to my comment about having to install mono, I just said that I'd have to install mono, didn't mean anything by it, definitely wasn't meant as an attack against you or the game.

I wanted to try Godot Miami last night, but couldn't get it to run. It couldn't find libXcursor.so.1. I made a symlink from steam to /usr/lib32, but that did nothing. I tried LD_PRELOAD, but that just made the terminal crash. I'll have to try again tonight.
I was going to try Tux Bomb, but then I saw that I'd have to install mono, so I haven't done that yet.
Played Reticle, that one worked out of the box. Simple game, but good target practice.

Steam Controller Motion Controls Look Very Slick
23 Oct 2015 at 11:51 am UTC

Quoting: CybolicIt does. It's worked for me perfectly in Ubuntu 15.04, Kubuntu 15.04 and SteamOS. It's completely different from a normal gamepad rumble though, much closer to what you get while typing on an Android phone's keyboard. It is quite light though, so can be missed in the heat of a game, but I've at least grown somewhat used to its feedback, enough to know which emulated button I'm on most of the time.
OK, thanks! I guess I was just expecting more, since some people claim that in trackball mode they can feel the ball spinning.

System Shock: Enhanced Edition Coming To Linux, Native Port
23 Oct 2015 at 2:03 am UTC

Just saw steamdb has added System Shock: Classic [External Link]. It already has a Linux executable using dosbox (at least going by the names) and is part of System Shock Enhanced. Looks like this may be coming soon. Looking forward to it!

There's A Possibility Of Just Cause 3 Coming To SteamOS/Linux

That would be fantastic! Hope it's true. So much fun randomly blowing things up! :)

Steam Controller Motion Controls Look Very Slick

So somewhat related: does the haptic feedback work on Linux? I don't really feel anything, even when set to high. I can hear it though, so I'm not sure if my thumb is just not picking it up. Or it might not be working properly. I don't really know. I've read great things about the feedback, so I'm a bit disappointed.

Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition Delayed For Linux, Again

Can't say I'm surprised; on the contrary, I would have been surprised if they had actually released a working Linux version on the 27th. Broken promises seem to have become the default for Larian on Linux.

Steam Controller Motion Controls Look Very Slick

Quoting: mr-eggAnd here is the problem. the slickness comes from what looks like big picture mode running faster on windows than on my Linux desktop, running a Game on windows that people really like that’s not on Linux. People on windows are getting excited about the controller, big picture and can play many AAA games too..

But Not SteamOS.
I don't understand what you mean. I just did pretty much the same thing as in the video but on Linux and with Bioshock Infinite. Works fine. Controller with gyro aiming works (I need more practice though...) BPM works mostly fine, I think it looks the same on all platforms, and it has occasional hiccups on all platforms. Valve are pushing out beta updates pretty regularly these days.

Quoting: mr-eggConsoles and 'PC' have the titles. In many ways Valve should of left the revision of Big picture UI to SteamOS only or the ordering of controllers to be SteamOS ( Linux ) there is literally no brand separation here.

What is the exact reason for SteamOS, even im getting confused. It offers nothing over anything else ?
Are you saying Valve should have released the controller exclusively for SteamOS? They already said they aren't doing exclusives, and I for one think that's a good thing.
