Edit: just noticed it said 'unannounced Mac / Linux game' so it can't be HR, since that's already on Mac. :(
Maybe Mankind Divided, then :D

Since I already bought this on Steam a few years ago (never got it to run properly under wine though), what is the best way to support Aspyr? If it comes to gog, I'm planning on buying it there. But what about GameAgent.com since they are owned by Aspyr? I've never bought from them, so if I buy the key and give it away and the person I give it to redeems on Windows, how does that count?

The Flock Will Only Be Playable For A Limited Time, Releasing For Linux This Year

And, unfortunately, the game becoming inaccessible is really not more of a problem than any other games that you can only get by pirating anymore, where the source code was lost or it's not clear who holds what license, or the license holder just sits on it. So it's not unique to this game, it just potentially happens a lot faster in this case. It's a general problem for gaming as a whole. And I agree that that is a problem that needs more attention. But it shouldn't keep devs from trying new ideas and innovating.

Quoting: DrMcCoyHmm, yes, plays or concerts without recordings also rub me the wrong way.A recording is never the same experience as being there, though. That's why people still go to the opera, rather than just waiting for the DVD. And Flock players can record their gameplay; of course, that's also not the same as playing yourself, but that's the same for all art/entertainment that involves audience participation. For me, it really depends on what the devs do afterwards: if they lock away the code for good and the game is never playable again in any way, I'm inclined to agree with you to some extent. The experience and historical impact (if any) can still be documented through gameplay recordings and social media archiving. But the game itself will be lost. But if they make it accessible in some way at some point, I don't see a problem.
It's just...I feel that these things are all part of our cultures, and not having them available is...wrong. It takes away from our collective knowledge, our collective experience. I want it all available eternally, for everyone. To experience, to critique, to analyze. Also in context of related works and in historical context later.

I definitely think it's an interesting idea, and I'm curious to see how it works out and how they handle this after the game has finished.

Quoting: DrMcCoyInteresting artist concept, but kinda shitty from a player perspective (planned obsolescence gone wild) and from an art preservation perspective (I don't want games, or any artistic work, to vanish just like that). That was my initial reaction as well, but thinking about it I'm not sure that really applies. There is already art that is more of an event, a temporary installation or event. Like if you go to the theatre, you'll never have that exact same experience again, but the play still exists. And it's not like the developers have to delete the source code when they are done. They can probably even reset the population counter and make this a recurring event. Though that big surprise finale will of course not be the same if people know what's coming.

Thoughts On The Final Steam Controller

On the other hand, Borderlands 2 works nicely for me as well, comes up fullscreen on the TV with sound from the TV. As do Bioshock Infinite and Victor Vran, those play all really well on TV.

Quoting: pbIn Talos Principle, even though there's lots of reading on the terminal, the text is perfectly legible from the couch. Borderlands 2 - similarly, the text size is just right at 1920x1080.I have a monitor and the TV connected to my PC, and I have the problem with Talos principle that it always opens on the monitor instead of the TV. I have Big Picture running on the TV with sound output set to TV speakers, but when I open Talos Principle, it comes up on the (main) monitor. It even switches the sound output to the monitor speakers (which are terrible). Mark of the Ninja outputs to both screens and also switches the sound. I have not found a way around this, I guess I'd have to boot without the monitor connected or something.

Very nice. I've been meaning to play this on PS4, but now I'll hold off and wait for the Linux version. With so many good games coming to Linux recently, I have plenty to keep me busy anyway.

Nice, I'm still stuck on the final boss, so now I should really get back to it. Good to see they are still supporting the Linux version.
I hope they'll reconsider a Linux port of Legend of Grimrock II at some point.

This is incredible. I went from a mix of medium and high settings to all epic (minus the motion blur), and the frame rate went up by about 20 fps. It's now running mostly around 60fps and looks a lot better.
