Great stuff from Team Cheetah. There are a bunch of companies and individuals doing great work to make Linux a more gaming friendly OS, notably Valve and Feral. Keep up the great work!

XLEngine for Dark Forces and Daggerfall is now open source

Never mind graphics, I wonder if this engine could allow you to change the control scheme of Dark Forces to something more in line with today's shooters (e.g. wasd movement and mouse aim). Having to deal with the awkward and antiquated controls is my biggest hurdle to playing this gem again.

MMO 'Project: Gorgon' released in Early Access with day-1 Linux support

I will wait for the full version, but I am hopeful this will finally be the MMO us Linux gamers have been waiting for. I can deal with 1998 graphics if the story and quests are compelling and there is room for honest to goodness roleplay.

The SMACH Z gaming handheld has switched to AMD Ryzen & Vega, pre-orders start soon

Quoting: TheSHEEEP
Quoting: KeyrockI wish them luck, but I think the SMACH Z is going to be dead on arrival. The price is just WAY too high for a handheld.
Yeah, I don't get it, either.
At that price, why not buy a DS and quite some games that were actually made to be played on a tiny screen?
At that price you could buy 2 Nintendo Switches and still have $100 left over.

I guess the argument for the SMACH Z is that you have access to all your Steam games on the go without having to pay for them again. That's definitely a plus, but the price of the unit itself is so prohibitive that I don't think it matters.

This was my GotY for 2016. Great to see Mimimi continuing to support their game and I look forward to seeing what they develop next.

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus announced with Linux support, due in 'late 2018'

I'll take a wait and see approach on this one, given that Games Workshop is willing to license their IPs out to literally anyone, which has lead to a veritable deluge of Warhammer and 40K games over the last several years, 90% of which have been garbage. Hopefully this one falls into the 10%.
