Quoting: Gueststeam machine happens
the value of these is pointless

microsoft releases xbox one which might as well be a windows 10 version of a steam machine
everyone jumps on it or is jumping on it now
To be fair, the XBOX One X got its ass handed to it by the PS4 this console generation, so not everyone jumped on it. That said, the XBOX still sold way better than Steam Machines.

Quoting: PatolaThe best part is that it is a more open universe system. According to wikipedia, "The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook is a 576-page hardback book released under the Open Game License.". Which is not open-source but at least is friendlier than the usual strict copyright licenses of the gaming industry. (Note that Wizards of the Coast also started using this license again for D&D recently, maybe influenced by Pathfinder).
I look forward to get acquainted with this new universe and find out the differences. Looks very similar, at least more similar to D&D than Warhammer Fantasy or Tolkien.
Pathfinder is sometimes called D&D 3.75 as it is a modification and extension of D&D 3.5.

I have high hopes for this game, as it has Chris Avellone as its narrative designer.

Paradox Interactive now owns 100% of developer Harebrained Schemes

Paradox has been relatively Linux friendly, so I don't expect this acquisition to negatively impact our chances of getting future HBS games on The Penguin. Paradox seem like one of the better publishers out there, certainly not nearly as evil as Electronic Arts, Activision, or Warner Bros. Hopefully the'll give HBS a good bit of creative freedom. Of course, Paradox is most well known for their grand strategy games, and while they've broadened their horizons recently, the idea of a grand strategy set in the Battletech universe sounds pretty appealing... ;)

Valve are easing up on what content is allowed on Steam

I do wish there was some curation on Steam. I don't mean excluding games that may be offensive, taboo, etc. to some people, rather getting rid of the games that are quite obviously lazy asset flips and that barely even function. Heck, Steam's had some games on it in the past with missing executables. Some of these asset flips are really obvious, going so far as using stock Unity and Game Guru menus and just having a bunch of stock assets thrown randomly into a stock map with no creative direction nor anything resembling game design.

Kentucky Route Zero (If the 5th and final episode comes out this year)
We Happy Few
