Awesome news! Still not pre-ordering, though. I'll buy it day 1, most likely, so long as the reviews aren't terrible nor is it riddled with bugs.

AMD Zen looks like it will release at CES in January 2017

I don't much trust benchmarks performed by one of the manufacturers themselves. That said, I do hope Zen is a winner. It's been far too long since AMD has been competitive with Intel. Competition is healthy for the market and beneficial for the consumer.

Really? I kinda think 4X is one of the genres that is in pretty good shape on Linux. In the AAA department we have Civ 5, Civ: Beyond Earth, Master of Orion (2016), plus Age of Wonders 3, Warlock 2, and a whole host of indies (some good some not so much). Not that I'm complaining, the more the merrier. I'm always down for more variety.

Disasters are great. Not only are they fun to look at (in a morbid sort of way), but they add adversity for you to overcome.
