Given how many different developers this game has gone through, which is never a good sign, I'm not expecting this to be good. I'll be happy to be wrong, though.

Thanks. Good to know. I'll still stick with Xubuntu for now, I see no compelling reason to switch when everything works fine and there are no significant performance advantages to SteamOS right now. I'll probably give it another look in a year or so, when it has matured some more. It would be cool if someone made a SteamOS fork with Xfce as the default desktop rather than GNOME. I'm rather partial to my mouse logo desktop.

BPM and the desktop are still separated.
Video recording is not something included by default in SteamOS, you need to add it yourself (two ffmpeg scripts basically).
On my system (while on Big Picture mode) for recording I press a combo on my gamepad and press it again to stop. The video recording goes directly to RAM and moved to disk when finished.
The recording is done with the CPU so it does alter the performance a bit, but you could use NVENC (for Nvidia cards) with minimal impact though.
Okay, so it's doable but requires jumping through some hoops. I'll stick with Xubuntu. Thanks for the info.

What I love about Invisible Inc is that there are no dice rolls. The levels are procedurally generated, but beyond that there is no randomness in the game. Everything either works or doesn't every time. So, when you fail, and you will, you have no one to blame but yourself. It's never a case of you had a skill check with a 85% chance to succeed and got screwed by the dice roll and failed the check. With this in mind, the game winds up playing a bit like a puzzle game, a damn good puzzle game.

I'll almost certainly pick this DLC up at some point, though not right now with Hard West just 2 days away.

Yeah, the DM content creation tools are the biggest disappointment I have with this game. I haven't used them enough to do a review on them, because I recognized quite quickly that they were woefully inadequate to create a story-driven adventure, like I wanted to. n-Space outlined a bunch of upcoming free updates which will add stuff to the game, including some sorely needed features for the DM tools. At the moment, however, the tools are good for making straight dungeon crawls and not a whole lot more.

My Own Thoughts On The Steam Controller, Flawed, But Fun

I'm using mine currently to play Victor Vran. Now that's a game that's already designed for controller use, so my Xbox 360 Controller would work just fine, but I do appreciate the almost endless amount of customization I have over the Steam Controller. I can fine tune the sensitivity and deadzone of pretty much everything down to a really fine level, and while Victor Vran does have a camera turn sensitivity slider for controller in-game (something I very much appreciate), the Steam Controller config utility lets me fine tune it that much further.

At this point I can confidently say that I'll likely never use my Xbox 360 Controller again. It's essentially going to serve as an emergency backup in case the unthinkable happens (my Steam Controller breaks :'( )
