DiRT Showdown Looks Like It's Getting A Linux Release

Quoting: KeyrockOf all the DiRT titles, this is the one I want to play the least, figures.
Why? What makes it different from the other dirt games?
Showdown is the outlier of the DiRT series. The other games in the series are a continuation of Colin McRae Rally, focused on providing a rally racing experience, and, while I wouldn't call them sims, they feature reasonably realistic driving physics. Showdown, on the other hand in essentially Gymkhana the game and features much more arcadey driving physics. If this was literally any other game in the series I would be overjoyed, but I have no interest in Showdown. That's not to say that it's a bad game, it's just not what I'm looking for. I don't much care for Gymkhana.

Of all the DiRT titles, this is the one I want to play the least, figures. Oh well, still cool it's possibly coming to Linux.

The Last Dogma, A Dark Comedy Exploration Adventure Is Now Available On Steam For Linux

I like weird games with dark humor. I might give this a shot. It's fairly cheap, so the risk is low.

Portal Stories: Mel, A Free Standalone Portal 2 Mod Released On Steam

Great mod. I'm about halfway-ish through it, I think, and I'm really enjoying it. I am very happy that it is indeed more difficult than Portal 2, as my biggest complaint about Portal 2 was that it was too easy. Can't beat the price either.

SMACH Zero, A SteamOS Handheld Official Specifications Revealed

It could work. At 720p, a SoC should have enough power to get playable framerates so long as not all the bells and whistles are turned on in demanding games. Of course, much will depend on the state of the Catalyst driver upon this device's arrival. Ultimately, the price will play a big role in the success of the machine. There is a threshold (around $200) for handhelds, and if the price is above the threshold, the device will fail, plain and simple. It happened with the 3DS, but Nintendo slashed the price quickly enough to save the system while it was floundering and it took off shortly after the price cut. It happened with the Vita and Sony didn't cut the price nearly quickly enough and the Vita is effectively dead... on life support at best. Simply put, if this device is too expensive, it will fail.

That looks dope. I'll probably pick it up once it comes out of early access.

VoidExpanse Space RPG Major Updates & It Now Uses Correct Linux Data Structure

Cool. It always bothers me when games create a folder right in your home directory or in My Games rather than the proper penguin way of data files in ~/.config and save games and config files in ~/.local/share. Of course, far too many games don't even follow a single agreed upon file structure in Windows, so it's not a surprise they can't do it on Linux. Good to see at least on developer followed through on feedback and set up the game the right way, or closer to it, at least. I may scoop this up in the future.

ARK: Survival Evolved Linux Release Delayed For The End Of June

"Excited now?"

No. Another game where you swing an axe at trees for hours a day then get griefed by other players. This one does have dinosaurs, which is, admittedly, a plus.

AMD's New R9 Graphics Cards Will Support Vulkan & OpenGL 4.5

I would imagine all the Nvidia cards that will support DirectX 12 will support Vulkan, which, I'm pretty sure, means all the GTX900 series cards.
