Considering that ChromeOS itself is going to the grave yard, I don't see this surprising at all.

System76 needs to really focus on updating their more portable line of laptops. Their Pangolin is still on the Ryzen 8000 series, not the AI series, let alone the Max series. So they are two generations old now.

This is a real threat to the Steam Deck. Valve should've been faster. It took them 3 years to make SteamOS available on a single third party device. Valve was also slow at getting retail stores to support their OS. After 3 years only the Legion is available in retail stores, and some markets are still completely missed including big markets like Chine, the Middle East and North Africa. By end of next year you'll find this new Windows initiative available on all third party devices and you'll find it available world wide, destroying the SteamOS market share in no time.

Didn't we hear something like that from the AtariACS guys? The idea of being able to resell your digital games sounds nice, but in practice this will likely not fly.

Too late. iGPUs is the future. By the time this driver becomes in a good shape in terms of performance people will have already moved to iGPUs. Well, I guess desktop players may continue to use nVidia, but that will be a niche market.

If Nintendo was to adopt this officially and sell you an official copy of the Rom that you can use with this I'm pretty sure many people will, but no, they think by not providing official support that you'll actually go buy a Wii or something to play this! They are soooo wrong.
