War for the Overworld is pretty good and too my mind much better than Dungeons 2.
The developers put so much work into the game and consequently updated it with new content. <3
I can only recommend it if you like Dungeon Keeper 2.

Maybe it helps you that there is a snap: https://snapcraft.io/openra [External Link]
and a flatpak: https://flathub.org/apps/details/net.openra.OpenRA [External Link]

Although I don't know how up-to-date the repositories are...
The snap, though it was updated 4 days ago (Sep 22), is version 20180307. The previous stable release.

The flatpack version I can't see it directly in the website. Is there a quick way to find out without downloading?

EDIT: formating.
The snap is still outdated by today:

I rechecked the Flatpak. It was already up to date when the article was written:
https://github.com/flathub/net.openra.OpenRA/commit/edb29c81f3dc5181ea26b697c581640940b0753d [External Link]

So it seems the Flatpak seems a pretty good solution for fast updates.

Guess I have to give the whole Total War saga thing another try as so much content is coming.
I rage-uninstalled "Total War: Warhammer" after losing the Empire campaign several times on normal. :D

Let's hope they changed their DLC policy a bit.

Thanks for another detailed review by you, BTRE. ;)

Quoting: ArehandoroEverytime I see a new DLC for PoE2 it reminds me I never did a second playthrough of the first, nor started with The White March and that I have this same game waiting for me on the HDD... Then I start Everspace and I forget about it altogether xD
And everytime I read about a new DLC of PoE2 it reminds me, that I always wanted to do a (firsT) playthrough of PoE I with The White March before getting PoE2 ^_^

Quoting: TcheyThere is no story, it's a open sandbox.

I understand the feeling, though we also added things that weren't promised, based on what we thought our players wanted the most. Let me explain how this happened.

We actually started development on the story, but it had to be shelved to make progress on huge economy changes that were badly needed. We thought a stable economy with better contracts would have more value to the game than the minimal storyline we had in mind.

We're a small team with limited resources, and completing Helium Rain has been a very long project - the first designs are basically five years old now. I wish we could make everyone happy.
Ok. Looks like a great game anyway and 15€ seems a good price. I will wishlist it until I have some time to play.
