Quoting: TheReaperUKDon't seem to work for me, downloaded from AUR, when i try:

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/\$LIB/libgamemodeauto.so ./name of game/benchmark

i get from terminal:

gamemodeauto: Could not call method on bus: No route to host
gamemodeauto: Could not call method on bus: No route to host
gamemodeauto: Could not call method on bus: No route to host
I just tested it on Arch with the AUR package. Works fine for me.
Have you enabled and started the user daemon?

systemctl --user enable gamemoded
systemctl --user start gamemoded
systemctl --user status gamemoded

FTL: Faster Than Light has a new patch to fix some lingering issues

Quoting: g000hMe again. Great News - I'm not sure when it happened, but finally FTL supports windowed-mode resizing (on Linux at least).

I'm on a 4K screen, I load up FTL and change from full-screen mode to windowed-mode in the Options, and I get a too-small play-window. Then, I select the corner of the window with the mouse, and resize it to be the window size I want, and the game is nicely handling the game-window resizing.

Whoop! Very happy about this.
This is great. I play it often on a 14" 1920x1080 laptop and the window is a little bit too small for my taste. Now i can resize it like i want.

Insurgency: Sandstorm will have a delayed Linux (and Mac) release, story-campaign cancelled for now

Quoting: GuestI was super excited for this but after how New World Interactive "ended" the first Insurgency I won't buy their products anymore. That whole we're discontinuing support and forcing 3rd party spyware on you while breaking the game UI and adding a ton of other problems before we "leave" fiasco.

Lack of campaign is just another big nail in the coffin that says they can't hold things together, deliver what they promise and that they have serious direction issues.
i still play insurgency from time to time, and i mentioned nothing like you wrote above.
what do you mean? What did i miss?
They never made it on par with the Windows version. There are still shadows missing (Player model shadows and some enviroment shadows).
The 3rd party spyware is BattleEye. That does not need root on linux like it needs on windows. Still it can access every file the user has access to.

What are you playing this weekend?

Already completed Hitman Patient Zero campaign and will do the other challenges which are quite fun.

As starkerg already said there is a workaround for that bug found by me a year ago. Should work in DoI too, but only tested it in Insurgency.

The fun and cheap online FPS 'Ballistic Overkill' is on sale with 50% off right now
15 Aug 2017 at 12:10 pm UTC

Does somebody know why it says 1920x1080@60Hz in the graphics settings? I play on a 144Hz monitor and get framerates >120 on medium settings which feels very smooth. So there is no a 60fps cap.

OpenGL vs Vulkan in Mad Max, re-tested

I was wondering why there was still one core with 100% on Vulkan. That explains it.

We now have an official Ballistic Overkill server

Quoting: liamdaweI've hardly changed anything. I set it to dedicated, since it is.

Edit: Servers vanish from the list while changing maps, maybe that is what's confusing you?
Maybe. I got it listed once in the server browser and played a few rounds. After that it vanished from the list and i have not seen it again since then. Pressed refresh for minutes.

The other thing that was confusing was the value for DedicatedBroadcast. In the tutorial on steam forums it says: set 1 to P2P Broadcast or 2 to Server Broadcast
and in the config file it says: 0: P2P Broadcast 1: Server Broadcast.
I have it on 2 at the moment.

I also had to change the default ports. Because i have a Insurgency server running that used these ports already. Maybe it has something to do with this.

Do you mind sharing your server config? I have problems getting my server listed in the server browser consistently. What did you put for the variable DedicatedBroadcast?
