Kibbles, that video is specifically about the development of the version of the game compatible with the original NES hardware, but very cool nonetheless.

Looks like I'll have to wait to get started on this until the mod issues with the Restored Content mod are sorted, that's a must have to me. -- The mod authors and Aspyr are aware of the issue and are both looking into it according to posts on the steam community.

Now, here's hoping they get around to the first one (Or Dr McCoy's efforts come to fruition) and perhaps Jade Empire as well.

GOL Cast: Kicking some Demon Butt in Brutal Doom

I've been meaning to check this mod out for years. Perhaps I'll give it a shot next week.

-- Update --

Dammit, you've rekindled my love for all things Doom engine! :-D

My steps for installing this was a bit simpler. I added the getdeb repo for ubuntu, installed gzdoom, pointed a path at my iwads, unzipped brutal doom, and double clicked the pk3 for it, and was off.

I play both of these on Linux often. (I'm an odd one and tend to play Moo2 under Wine) Even so, I ... may... throw some money GoG's way, as these are amongst my long time most favourite games.

Worlds Of Magic 4X Turn-based Strategy Game Fully Released For Linux

After spending some time with this since its release, I've noticed more bugs, which I'll contact Wasteland Interactive's support about tonight -- Note: These are bugs I'm experiencing in v1.0.1, the patch put in the day after release:

Sometimes after defeating units, they will ghost on the world map. This can happen to one of your units using the charm spell. If this happens, that unit can be deployed in battle, but will not show up, and the battle will not end upon its 'death', allowing you to constantly hurl spells as long as your battle-mana lasts.

The AI's cheating is rather egregious, with defeated units reappearing on the unit stack the next turn if you are unable to destroy them all. This may or may not be related to the ghosting bug I mentioned earlier.

The game loves to crash during the transition from initial load screen to main menu.

I bought this last night after this announcement. I too am an avid MoM player, and so far, the gameplay has been spot on, no disappointments here. I've spotted some graphical issues with my mouse pointer, but nothing terrible. The one thing I miss from MoM over this version is the old dynamic score, especially the special track hits for exploring monster lairs, towers, etc. The soundtrack in WoM is a tad... bland so far (Though MoM's overland tracks weren't great either...)
