Quoting: subI'd like to pass a SOMA key to someone currently not able to buy it.I wouldn't mind a SOMA key! I'm not massively needy, as I have a stack of games to play, but I do like the look of that one.

This could be what I've been waiting for! I try to live real life as ethically (by my standards) as I can, but in games you're usually forced to kill or destroy stuff. I love Cities Skylines, but you're still pretty much forced into growth and sprawl and traffic. I realise that's not real, but it would be nice to play with a green and peaceful strategy as an option, to create things I would want to create in the real world. A good education for children too.
I like killing and destroying stuff too, of course :p Mostly just in games.

Nearly 4 years later, Steam still won’t close to the tray icon on Linux without workarounds

Quoting: GuestWhat the close button *should* do is exit Steam completely.Or have an option in the settings, where you can tick "close minimises to system tray" where the default could be it just closes fullstop. I don't need an entry on the taskbar/windows list for everything that's running. Like Notes, Telegram, Cantata, Dropbox etc.

But sometimes I want Steam to still be running behind the scenes, with an icon in the system tray, and that's where the fix comes in. It means I can close the Steam 'browser' window properly, rather than that window being minimised to the taskbar. If I've got a game running at the time, that stays open as normal.

Quoting: GuestI just learned to right-click the icon in the system tray and close it that way. If they could fix this though, that'd be great.Yes, that's how I close mine too, when I want to completely shut down the Steam client.

Quoting: XodetaetlCloses to tray on Mint 18.This is annoying. Telegram is the same for me, which I find particularly annoying. This is with Xfce, can't remember what it's been like elsewhere, I've been distro/DE-hopping like crazy recently!
But clicking on the icon doesn't display the window again, it opens the right-click menu and I have to click on Library. Annoying.

Some distros seem to have applied a fix themselves.
A few times I've needed to track down the steam file (I've seen it in /usr/games/ but others have mentioned /usr/bin/) and add the force_close line near the top:
export STEAM_FRAME_FORCE_CLOSE=1
Then it doesn't matter about launchers or shortcuts. Though I suppose an update could overwrite it.

Bah. Picked this as my free game when I bought my graphics card. There were no Linux-friendly options, but I thought this one would arrive one day.
Still, I got Tomb Raider with the previous graphics card, so that one worked out ok!

I really want one. Unfortunately, I recently bought a second-hand Thinkpad. Different uses, but I would have shifted my ideas and expectations if this had been around before I spent that money. Anyone want a Thinkpad Yoga 12?!

I've been putting of EU IV for a long time, because I have other things to play and I imagine it needs a bit of commitment. But i don't think I'll be able to put off Stellaris.

I stupidly bought this a little while back, in a Steam sale. But I haven't played it yet, and I'll be buying it again (to gift) when it's out on Linux. Been looking forward to this for ages!
