Both Intel and AMD use consumers as betatesters...
That is a very bad habit from both.

Both should release true new CPUs every five years or more.

That is way We need a third player in the CPU market.

hmm. I wonder if we gonna see one of there Linux ports on Steam...
If Valve reduce the regular 30% cut to only 5% cut, those Linux ports will be on Steam on day one.

Only if GabeN had the balls for this:
"If your game has a fully functional Linux version, instead of the regular 30%, We charge you only the 5%"

Even EA and Ubisoft can adopt PROTON for their eventual future Linux clients...
They only have to spend money in their Linux client development, which is insignificant for their bank accounts, and let Valve do the rest.

That's quite simple. Because some of these improvements make some games work, and a few games work better, but break other games. Official Proton can't have this. It has to have the least number of failed games possible and can't tolerate regressions. It has to adopt a conservative approach to be useful.

I know, but... a month without improvements or a new release candidate for public testings?
