if feral confirmed native port

^_^
This is actually my point.
If it feels as native as this one

Quoting: scaineI have an Overwatch launcher in my quick bar now, thanks to Lutris. It feels native. So impressive.
let's be honest, most people won't wait for Feral.
Grab the Autumn sale discount at give it a go.
The port is announced for 2019.

Yes, I honestly feel sorry for Feral.
And considering Twitter posts by some of their devs,
they're quite worried about Steamplay/Proton. :/
Feral gets their cut of Protonic sales after the port has been announced:

The fact that they don't care about linuxians playing their announced ports right now via Proton, suggest me that, indeed, they get a cut of Proton sales.
I have emailed them a few days ago asking for this information in regards to TW: W2, but it also applies to SotTR. This is their response:

Hi Cláudio,

Thank you for your email and support of our releases for Linux. We are excited to have such a strong lineup of games on the way to the platform!

We would prefer that you buy our games once they have been released on Linux. If you can’t wait to purchase, please note that we will only benefit from a purchase made directly on a Linux machine through Steam; and this must be after we have announced that we will be releasing a Linux version. The game must then not be played via Windows in the first 2 weeks post purchase, otherwise it will count as a Windows sale.

Once Linux versions of games have been released, the official outlets that sell our titles are:

Feral Interactive Store
Steam Store
Humble Store
Gamersgate

Any preorders made outside the Feral or Steam Stores will not count as Linux sales regardless of whether the game has been officially announced, as these keys are normally only distributed to third parties at release.

Many thanks for your support! We hope this clarifies how Linux sales work for us, but please let us know if you require any further assistance.

Best regards,
Sam Gardener

Thanks for that.

So, my theory was correct!
If We buy LIS 2 now on the Steam store using the Linux Steam client and play it only via Proton, Feral will get their cut.

Total War: WARHAMMER II will release for Linux on November 20th
17 Nov 2018 at 12:32 am UTC

Quoting: x_wingI really don't like people getting pissed off because of "another total war game". Guys, We're getting native AAA games on our platform, you should all be happy even if it's not a game you like or you're whiling to play. In fact, I remember that not too long ago that some users were worried because Linux gaming was losing momentum, being one the concerns that less and less AAA where released in our platform...

So, lets be happy for this new AAA and let's try to rethink before posting any negative comment for this type of news.
That depends of your concept about what is an AAA game.
For me, games without Spanish voice overs are not AAA, and it doesn't matter how famous the franchise is.
This is an indie game for me... The same goes for The Witcher franchise.

Anyway! For tastes, the colours.

Feral is 22 years old...
It is time to stop porting games developed by others and start developing their own games, maybe with the financial help of Valve.

The eventual success of Proton will change the rules for game porters: Develop or die.
Ethan Lee understood this and now He is working on Proton.

Considering that a windows game purchased on the Steam Linux client and played via Proton counts as a Linux sale, I wonder if Feral is getting their cut right now for Life is Strange 2 running on Proton, just because they have the publishing rights for Linux.
