The new steamplay feature is different:
"Steam Play will automatically install compatibility tools that allow you to play games from your library that were built for other operating systems."
Maybe this Compatibility tool is SteamOS exclusive.

Quoting: Ne0That is the old Steamplay feature, available for years...Quoting: DamonLinuxPLI have been disappointed with such things many times. Worst of all if it will be a compatible profile for running games from xp/vista/7 in Windows 10 :DHere's the Official Documentation for Steam Play [External Link],
And here are the logos...

...AWESOME !!!

"Steam_Settings_Compat_Forced_Info" "You can use Steam Play to test games in your library that have not been verified with a supported compatibility tool."
"Steam_Settings_Compat_Forced_Enable" "Enable Steam Play for all titles"
"Steam_Settings_Compat_Advanced_Info" "You may select a compatibility tool to use with games that have not been tested or verified to work on this platform.\n\nThis may not work as expected, and can cause issues with your games, including crashes and breaking save games."
"Steam_Settings_Compat_Default_Tool" "Compatibility tool:"
"Steam_Settings_Compat_Info_Link" "SteamPlay FAQ"
"Steam_Settings_Compat_No_Default" "None selected""Steam Play will automatically install compatibility tools that allow you to play games from your library that were built for other operating systems."

I don't know how the metrics system of Valve works... If you buy a windows exclusive game via the Linux version of the Steam client, maybe is counted as a Linux sale.

Quoting: g000hThere are some non-obvious effects. Devs are very much affected by analytics data. A game bought for playing on Windows (i.e. WINE) because the Linux port is delayed (for instance), produces stats that it was a Windows purchase.I know that GOG detects properly the Operative System used when you buy a game.

Now I have to post a review about them, clarifying that the games were played on Linux.
