Quoting: EikeIt's still possible to wind up with incompatible modules even when using a cross-platform engine. I'm thinking of Pillars of Eternity with its non-existent capes for Linux and OSX because the developers used a Windows-only plug-in for rendering capes.Quoting: SamsaiHopefully they don't suddenly "forget" about Linux during the development process and end up with a massive amount of incompatible Windows-only middleware that destroys all chances of a Linux port in the end.Fortunately, they are totally aware of this:
[In Unity, building for those platforms can be done with a click of a button, but unless we have the resources to build on those platforms on a regular basis, supporting those platforms will be incredibly difficult. ](http://steamcommunity.com/app/482400/discussions/0/351660338713339416/?ctp=7#c358417008716066949 [External Link])

Quoting: GuestI really don't understand why developers don't do more research to find a publisher that allows them to put the game on any platform they want, or just publish it themselves through GOG or Steam!I'm pretty sure it's not as trivial as you make it sound.
You can play controversial FPS 'Daikatana' on Linux now, thanks to a fan patch endorsed by John Romero

Quoting: SlackdogDoes the patch address the s*it level design and p*sspoor gameplay? :PYeah, I like how after all these years, Romero is still delusional enough to believe that the problems with this game are merely technical.

Quoting: NaibIf only Lego games were ported I would look into a steamboxAs strange as it might sound, the one game I miss the most since giving Windows the old heave-ho last year is LEGO The Lord of the Rings.

Quoting: LinasDo we actually have a confirmation for the Linux support on this one?
Quoting: DrMcCoyYes. The Steam page [External Link] has Linux system requirements and an earlier press release mentioned Linux, but I can't find it at the moment. They're also reusing the same general codebase from Pillars of Eternity, so Linux support isn't a problem at all.Plus it's being published by Paradox who is a major supporter of Linux gaming.

They need to give this game a different name, because every time I see it, I read it as "Tranny".

This is the first DLC that actually looks like it's worth the admission price.
Also, the performance improvements in the patch, while seemingly minor, could have a big impact, especially the one bug that was apparently causing some effects to render twice per frame.

I'm guessing this is purely cosmetic? I'll probably do like I've done with most of the other Paradox DLC I've purchased: add it to my wishlist and wait for a sale. I picked up a bunch of cheap DLC for Crusader Kings II and Europa Universalis IV during the recent Steam summer sale.
