It's my understanding that lack of scaling is a limitation of the Clausewitz engine which is several years old and wasn't designed for ultra-high resolution displays. Rumor is that Hearts of Iron IV will be the last Paradox game to use at least this version of Clausewitz.
I love Crusader Kings II and Europa Univversalis IV, so I'm definitely looking forward to Stellaris.

Quoting: minjI also pre-ordered after the livestream. First pre-order ever, then again Paradox (the devs, not necessarily the publishers) have proven themselves time and again with linux support. I already own EUIV and CKII.Crusader Kings II was one of the first games I bought for Linux shortly after Steam for Linux was officially launched. Paradox quickly became one of my favorite developers.

I was interested in this game until someone on the Steam forums pointed out that a significant chunk of reviews for this game are from obvious shills (one game in their account, one review). As much as I love golf sims, I really can't support that kind of unscrupulous activity on the part of the developers.

The biggest problem with Linux gaming at the moment is that there is no compelling reason for someone who is happy with Windows to switch to Linux. All they see are fewer games with worse performance. Now there are many good reasons to kick Windows to the curb, but try explaining that to your average user who will then proceed to viciously defend Windows.

Quoting: rkfgActually, the Linux version of XCOM 2 ran comparable to and even slightly better than the Windows version. It was Firaxis who "downgraded" some of the visuals in the performance patch. Feral just ported those changes into the Linux version.I have no doubt Feral Interactive will push out future patches to improve things.Yeah, just remember Shadow of Mordor and XCOM 2, how improved they were after the initial Linux release. Hint: just a little, nowhere near the Windows performance and sometimes by downgrading the settings like in XCOM 2.

This is fairly typical for a DirectX to OpenGL port, but hopefully when developers start using Vulkan, these performance disparities will disappear.

Quoting: legluondunet61 to 154 fps it is enough to have a good gameplay isn't it?Yes. Anything above 60 fps is basically wasted since most monitors top out at 60 Hz (although higher-end monitors do go as high as 120 Hz). But still, it's a hard-sell trying to convince gamers to take up Linux when they see performance numbers cut in half compared to Windows.

Pretending that DRM doesn't prevent casual copying is as naive as pretending that it hinders hardcore pirates.

Quoting: IgnisThe average mom and pop consumer has never heard of The Pirate Bay, and their eyes would glaze over if you ever tried to explain the concept of a torrent to them. This is who most DRM is aimed at and not the technologically savvy gamer.Quoting: Mountain ManI'm not sure what you're saying. DRM isn't meant to stop piracy, it's meant to prevent "casual" copying. It adds a little bit of inconvenience so that the average consumer is more likely to buy the game/movie/book/whatever than they are to simply get a "free" copy from a friend, and this works as intended for the most part.It does not work. Hitting TPB and downloading whatever is already faster and don't require you to jump through numerous hoops. All copyright holders manage to do is to throw their own money into a black hole. Well, that and whine to pass more laws that encroach on human rights while shedding crocodile tears.
