Kingdom Come: Deliverance doesn't look like it will come to Linux any time soon

"Their Kickstarter still to this day lists Linux as a platform."
Enough developers have pulled this scam -- promising a Linux build in order to draw in more backers and then failing to deliver -- that I think Linux gamers need to simply stop supporting Kickstarter projects. Spend your money on finished games that are actually available for Linux instead of handing cash to crowd-funding con artists.

The multiplayer-only version is just $5, and the full single player game is $30. You pay more, you get more. That seems reasonable to me.

I don't think we'll know the answer until Valve tells us, because I guarantee they know exactly how many of their customers are running Linux/SteamOS and what percentage of them regularly buy software.

Quoting: KeyrockAMD has been a complete non-factor in the mid-high end desktop market for half a decade+ now. It's about time Intel had some competition. You know, people say stuff like this, but I've been using AMD CPUs for well over a decade, and I've never been unhappy with the performance of my systems. Are Intel CPUs theoretically faster? Sure. But they're also a hell of a lot more expensive. In terms of cost per performance, AMD has always been hard to beat.
A new Steam Client Beta adds new Steam Controller features

Quoting: slaapliedjeI wonder who's fault it is that the steam controller doesn't work in Hero Siege on Linux. It works on Windows, but under Linux the game doesn't recognize it properly and so won't work at all. I'm guessing they need to update their controller detection library. Seems it really only detects an xbox 360 controller.I have the same problem in Euro Truck Simulator 2. The Steam Controller is only recognized as a mouse and keyboard and not as a controller. The deverlopers told me in early-January that they're aware of the problem and working on a solution but a fix has yet to be released.
Ashes of the Singularity developer thinks Vulkan will make Linux gaming viable

Quoting: ChloeWolfieGirlThats something I thought, Vulkens gonna work on everything so why would you ever use DX12 over Vulken, especially in the long run...Because Microsoft has traditionally given developers "incentives" (in the form of support and/or threats) to use DirectX, and I can almost guarantee that a stipulation of the Windows store will be exclusive use of DirectX. I can dream that a lot of developers would tell Microsoft to take a hike and start encourging their fans to use Linux instead, but I think we all know that is unlikely to happen.

Ashes of Singularity looks absolutely stunning. I just hope it's actually a good game.
Total War: WARHAMMER might not see a day-1 Linux release

Did anybody really expect this to be a Day 1 Linux release? Not to mention that the Total War series has always been notoriously unpolished upon released, so I think whoever is doing the port has their work cut out for them.
And besides, we're still waiting for the promised Rome II port, so let's all keep our expectations in check.

Quoting: LinasI wonder if they have source code for the Linux beta version that was published by icculus, if I am not mistaken? It was actually quite close to being finished, and ran mostly ok.Keep in mind that only the source code has been released into public domain. Art assets and the Serious Sam IP have not.
