We have said stuff: mainly thank you for being so patient, because it really is appreciated. We can't really go into deets, though. Stay tuned, and all that. Stay tuned.
That really makes you wonder. If he can't go into details then it almost makes it sound like the delay is business related rather than technical, because surely they'd be able to tell us if it was a technical issue.
Why do you think details of technical issues is something they like to share?
This is not my experience.

For example, I as an AMD user, would really like to get some detailed information about Catalyst-specific issues. As you might know it's mainly a performance thing. Kind of: "this GL-function gives us headaches, because it behaves like <issue-here> and not as expected <short-description-here>".

Imho, this would be really interesting to get a good idea of issues with the porting process and what's actually going wrong with Catalyst. But from my experience companies do not want to share this kind of information. :(
The fact that he says that he can't give details is what makes me think there is some contractual gag in place. Otherwise, why couldn't they just say what's causing the delays? Even something as simple as "It has taken us longer to optimize than anticipated" would suffice as an explanation.

Quoting: liamdaweUpdate: Checking their Feral Radar, it seems Mordor has been pushed back into the "Soon" column rather than "Very Soon", so we doubt it is Mordor.
Ah, crap, really? How did this game go from a Spring release window to "Who the hell knows"? They must have encountered a significant roadblock. I just wish they'd give us some update.

Quoting: KimyrielleA little thought experiment: Get your copy of Lord of the Rings, search for "Frodo" and replace with "Frida". Change all gender pronouns accordingly. Then tell me what impact that change had on the story.

You're right: None.
It would certainly add a significant wrinkle to the Frodo and Sam dynamic and color our perception of their relationship, so saying that the impact would be none is not entirely accurate.

Now imagine if Eowyn's gender was changed to male. That would have a huge impact on that particular subplot.

Looks pretty cool. I would love to see this come to Linux because there are so few pure exploration games out there.

I bought this yesterday. It's a fun game, and it runs great in Linux, so the developers obviously took their porting job seriously. This is why I don't get too upset when a developer like Arrowhead (Gauntlent) drops Linux support because there's always another developer just around the corner who will happily support our preferred platform.

Your trolling was a success? Have a cookie.
Quoting: Mountain ManSeriously, dude, you're on a Linux site talking trash about Linux. What'd you expect?
He most certainly shouldn't expect conspiracy theories and flaming. This isn't a circle-jerk site for zealots and Tux fetishists, hopefully. We're here for news and discussions on Linux gaming, not on how much better we are than the heretics who are too blind to see the glorious superiority of our preferred OS. This might come as a shock, but your attitude is in no way beneficial to "the cause".
I wasn't trolling, dude. I've just seen his type before, those people who show up in Linux discussions and try to give the impression that Linux is a buggy, poorly supported, fragmented OS by describing atypical problems and then acting like it's par for the course for the Linux experience; for instance, he claims that his inability to run LibreOffice is a "perfect example" of what it's like to use Linux and that developers "constantly [release] ... unfinished, unpolished, buggy stuff" for the platform. Frankly, I'm surprised he didn't pull out the old canard about having to use the command line for everything.

I feel it's important to call people like that out, and when they throw a hissy fit over it, well, I can't help but laugh.

Quoting: Mountain ManI have to assume you're a paid shill for Microsoft engaging in the age old practice of astroturfing forums with FUD about Linux.
You're exactly the type of moronic zealot I've been talking about, ignorant as fuck.

It's pointless when the community consists of people like you.

People have serious issues but individuals like this take it they have to be involved in some kind of conspiracy against Linux, just because they state the obvious. You sir, are a very poor character.
