Talos Principle & Serious Sam 3 getting Vulkan updates, Serious Sam 4 will be on a much improved engine

Quoting: linuxgamerFor me Talos and Serious Sam 3: BFE had a quite low performance. Talos went well as there is very few time depending action, but it was not possible to play a FPS like SS3, so I preferred to get a refund.

Quoting: adolsonBut a Talos update to Vulkan is even better news! I am excited to see the difference.
Would be great no question, but who has'nt bought Talos already? From the financial POV it will be much better to focus on the performance of the next releases.
I'm guessing an AMD thang or you play on a potato. I went through SS3 back on my Athlon II and GTX 460 and it ran beautifully even then. To me it seems like one of the better natively optimized engines.

I didn't vote for it because afaik there's never been any real confirmation that a port is happening.

Planetary Annihilation: The journey of a Kickstarter

I purchased this title a while back in a bundle, one of at least 3 it's been in. I probably paid a buck or two for it. I could see why early access purchasers at $90 would be a little frustrated with the company. 2.4 million should fund a pretty impressive game. The average gamer may not know what goes into the making of a game, but perhaps the average indie developer isn't the greatest financial expert either.

Quoting: Comandante oardoI would like to see how this game run with a core i5 4690K and a GTX 970
Since you're higher spec all around than me it should run great. I wouldn't be surprised if shadows still give you problems though, as they seem very unoptimized for this port.

DoubleFine seem to have attracted a bit of a mess with Psychonauts 2 funding

Ouch. Hopefully it isn't as bad as he's painting it, though I'm sure it has the potential to be.

How playable is the game in its current state? Lots of loot? Locations?

Albion Online closed beta extended, no longer going free to play after

I'm guessing that it means you pay up front and then there will also be microtransactions and probably even p2w. Path of Exile is proof that a game can be successful using non p2w microtransactions and a free to play model. That's another one I wish was linux native.

GRID Autosport releasing for SteamOS & Linux on December 10th

Quoting: MGOidLets hope that it will not need OpenGL 4.3 as minimal requirement, like the other recent Feral ports, so people using opensourse drivers can play it from day one.

Also, didn't Feral bought a bunch of AMD cards months ago, so they can better support then? Why are they sticking with Nvidia in the requirements?

Feral can't do anything to improve AMD's drivers. Hopefully "The Boss" doesn't mind me linking to another site, but those graphs say it all. The entire AMD lineup getting smoked by a 750 Ti in the majority of the tests.
