Minter's still in the biz eh? Tempest 2k was one of the few bright spots for the Atari Jaguar.

I got the new gun from Gemly this morning but it did take a few attempts with some server errors.

I'm holding out because its past due for the price to drop from $60. It's not a new game anymore. I would have bought it when it was new if not for 1) there were linux issues from the get-go which took them a while to resolve and 2) it was obviously going to get milked for DLC. Any such game I'll just wait a year or two for a GOTY edition that has all the content bundled. I just can't justify paying $60 for a game that came out 2.5 years ago now (or any portion thereof in a 'sale' markdown unless it's extreme).

Hmm, I was a launch day player for Guild Wars and its expansions. I'd say it was actually one of the smoothest MMO launches in history. I don't remember ever being in any kind of server queue for that game, and nothing serious going wrong in game besides server reboots every couple of hours for the first few weeks (which they usually warned about well ahead of time).

I purchased the game last night. Had no trouble downloading the client or logging in. Ran great on my weird gentoo system. Looks like an i7-2600 & gtx 960 are more than enough for it, even in a town with hundreds of people it was at 45% gpu use and no cpu cores maxed.

Even if I don't end up playing it much I don't regret supporting a company that obviously put some time and effort into their linux port.

My IGN is Kedvic if someone wants a not-around-very-often straggler in their guild or friends list.
