Exiled Kingdoms - a mobile RPG with decent depth, now on Linux

The best games articles are those written from personal passion. You can't force this kind of thing on a weekly basis (no hard feelings, Liam). Your recounting has me sold despite the fact that I almost always reject games simply for poor presentation, being 2D in this case. !GoLbot notify me when the DRM-free build arrives.

Din's Curse wasn't as good as Depths of Peril in my opinion but maybe this can bring over some of those conventions.

I am interested only in games which support my platform unconditionally and whose developers don't expect me to sing and dance to "gauge interest" like some kind of lap dog.

I am pleased to say that I was wrong: Crazy Justice did launch their BR game on Linux before the Battle Royale craze fell out of favor. Good on them.

The fast-paced free shooter 'Xonotic' is now available as a Flatpak package for easy install

Installing it through the itch client is good enough for me. Flatpaks don't auto-update themselves, do they?

The Linux version of Civilization VI should get cross-platform online play in the next few weeks

In my personal experience, one of the biggest factors driving away newcomers to adopting Linux gaming is high profile games which divide online play between users of Linux and Windows. I understand there are technical hurdles but it makes us look really bad.

i.e. newcomers who aren't well versed in the subject matter simply use that to assume that all other Linux games are cordoned off into their own little multiplayer ghettos.

Minecraft 'Update Aquatic' is a huge update which brings the new launcher officially to Linux

MojangMicrosoft have so far been unexpectedly supportive of non-Windows platforms with Minecraft. That said, I would still encourage any Linux gamer looking for a voxel block games to give Minetest a try.
