Steam in these cases is the lesser of two evils
I don't see Steam as evil at all? It's a digital distribution platform - so what? It's even a platform for free software. And like it's said in the article: No exclusivity periods, it's free for the users, it's cross platform, it's proven to be a reliable service, they support Linux.
Where's the evilness?
It's proprietary software with some DRM, that's probably the evil to which he's referring. That's perfectly relevant for us Linux users.

Are you interested in Angels with Scaly Wings [External Link] (mentioned in the conclusion) too, or is it the wrong kind of "waaaaaaaat"? Dad Quest looks solid, and I've backed that one myself.
No, it's the right kind of waat :D, just can't justify backing something that's already successfully funded right now. Backed a lot of things lately, some at pretty high tiers. Just backed Failsafe in the hopes it might get saved at the last minute though.

Yep. There will never be enough time. If you start to think you're about to finish all the games you have now, you'll have already bought too many more.

Myself, I spend more time buying games and reading about buying more games than I do actually playing them. Which is saying something, since I play a lot...
