Chrome OS appears to be edging closer to Steam support with Linux

Having had experience with a Chromebook, I can say they are very good for non-technical users. The security model and update process is excellent.
All that said, my personal feeling about Google is: Their engineers are amazing but I don't trust their management.
Linux support on ChromeOS is cool, but I 100% expect it to be cancelled at some point in the future.

I don't generally buy games to play on Proton, but I made an exception for Okami. I don't think there was a chance of it ever being ported. Proton runs it quite well.
I think it is one of my favourite games from the past and I am sad that the team didn't make any more in the genre (DS spinoff ignored). I also own it on PS2 and PS3, but playing with the Steam controller is very nice.

Quoting: RobDonovanThanks for answering my question directly! I will take a look.Quoting: no_information_hereThis does look pretty fun. Anyone have an idea how long of a game it is? Does it have much of a story?Hi, one of the developers here.
We finish the game in about 8-9 hours, so that's about 2hrs for each planet, but we know 'everything' ;)
People we've seen stream, take around 16 or so.
I wouldn't call it 'Story strong', but there is a little bit of ongoing story to the game.

The "recently" question was not bad, even if it gets stale. I saw it as reflecting the user's frequency of use. You could adjust the wording a bit to be less about the direct past (last week, last month) and to be more about the general case (how often per year, per month).
You also want to be careful not to lose continuity with your old stats. You have a useful survey tracking linux gaming over time. Suddenly removing a question destroys the ability to track trends in that area.

Quoting: Liam DaweI agree I think we're long passed the point where the timing on Wine based questions make sense so they will be removed.I think it is a mistake to completely remove Wine/Proton from the questions. It seems like too big a part of Linux gaming to ignore it.
Edit: Wine/Steam Play questioning was removed. In future, we may look to introduce other questions about them but the previous questions didn't fit with the way this survey works and frankly they weren't even useful. Thanks for the feedback. This does streamline it a bit too for now :)

Quoting: DuncDo you still need a Gold account to play online? I didn't mind when it was my main gaming machine because I'd probably have had one anyway, but £40 p.a. (or whatever it costs these days) seems a bit steep for the occasional nostalgia trip.Sadly, yes. Compared to free online play through Steam, Xbox gold is not really worth the price. However, for me personally it has been OK for a few months, just to play with my distant friend! I don't play multiplayer games other than a few co-ops.

I have a good friend in another country without a decent PC. He picked up an ancient Xbox360 and I dusted my 360 off too. We have been playing old co-op shooters like Gears of War, Halo, and Borderlands. Remarkably fun. I was surprised how solid GoW 2 and 3 were.
It does remind me how thankful I am that they ported Borderlands 2 & TPS to Linux. The old 360 does OK but I so prefer playing on my Linux Box with the Steam Controller.

I like the visual style. The quality of a tower defense game is really in the difficulty balance of the later (harder) levels. I sure hope they get it right! I need a new tower defense fix soon...

Supraland is leaving GOG after less than a year, dev says sales were low

That is too bad. Supraland was a surprise hit for me and one of my favourite games of the last year.
I care about DRM-free but agree with the comments about GOG being a pain. Linux has always been an afterthought for them. The dev dropping linux is a bigger deal for me. I found out that he did the end credit music with his crazy band:

(The dev plays the instruments in the video). Talented guy - unfortunate that he has some distorted views regarding linux.
