I like that it will enable the steam overlay for the controller without forcing me into big picture mode.

For the rest of it: Meh.

I would like my minimal icon-only view back, please.

Edit: Digging through the reddit rage thread dug this up. Paste this into your start arguments for steam.

-no-browser +open steam://open/minigameslist [External Link]

Warning, it completely disables the store, etc. and you are just left with the minimal list. Not exactly what I was looking for.

Steam Play Proton 4.11-7 is out with more gamepad improvements and other misc fixes

I have been slowly going through my backlog of Windows games that came along with bundles I got for the Linux games. It turned out I had "The Witness" and it plays well under this version of Proton. Impressive puzzle game. I think I lean more toward games like Talos when it comes to environmental puzzles but The Witness is remarkably good.

For some of the puzzles I think "My brain must work the same way as Jonathan Blow's mind!" Then for others I think "WTF?!"

I also like the island and the attention to detail.

Beautiful sci-fi action platformer MegaSphere just got a massive update, needs a workaround on Linux

Looks great. I am glad to see they are continuing to improve the game.

However, I will wait until a full release before buying...

The incredibly atmospheric racing platformer Distance just got even bigger

Really is a fantastic experience, the challenge on some levels is insane too.
Yes indeed. I agree on both counts!

Twin-stick exploration shooter Smith and Winston is out now, some thoughts

I am trying to remember if this was originally going to be a rogue-like? What are the progression mechanics now?

Quoting: scaineIt's a fabulously satisfying shooter, which was only let down by a slightly broken story (at the time). Now that they consider it "finished", I'm looking forward to giving this another shot.
That was my other question: How is the story? Or at least a compelling reason to explore...

7 Billion Humans turns one year old, Tomorrow Corp put their games on sale to celebrate

Quoting: EikeEven this bundle [External Link] doesn't have anything I own, so I looked on their web site to find... they're working on a new game [External Link]!

What is this internet highway all the kids are faxing about these days? Can I go on an incredible road trip and make lots of broken new friends along the way? Isn’t Tomorrow Corporation made of three grumpy old people who don’t know how to use social media? Yes!
You just made my day! Thank-you.

I love Tomorrow Corporation. Their twisted sense of humour is great.

(When I need to wind down and don't have brain-space for a more complicated game, I like to speed-run Little Inferno up to the last combo. But, yeah, that is a little weird.)

Mable & The Wood is a fairly unusual Metroidvania out now with Linux support

Quoting: PatolaJust use sc-controller [External Link]. Don't be dependent on Steam's driver, it's closed source and inferior to sc-controller.
Thanks, SC-Controller is a great project. The valve controller config works very well most of the time, so I pretty much stopped using SC-Controller. In this case, I think it is the game itself and I doubt SC-controller would be able to do much more than I already have.
